California is sitting on an estimated 15 billion barrels of recoverable oil in the Monterey Shale formation. My guess is that most of it is probably going to stay there.

* Reduces CO2 sharply? Doesn’t matter.
* Produces far less in the way of air pollutants like sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, soot, and mercury? Doesn’t matter.
* Shifting from coal to gas would “reduce the overall likelihood of health problems affecting the nervous system, inner organs, and the brain”? Doesn’t matter.

What matters is shutting down affordable U.S. energy supplies, redistributing wealth, and downsizing America.
