The fact-checking press gives the president a pass
It is stunning at this late date that an allegedly skeptical press is still pushing string on the theory that Obama just needs to explain himself better, but more disturbing (and emblematic) is the notion that the sitting president of the United States hasn’t himself crossed the line between fact and fiction. Perhaps that conclusion is so widespread because the fact-checking exercise itself is not primarily concerned with the exercise of power.
In December the Pulitzer Prize–winning website PolitiFact, which is run by the Tampa Bay Times, announced its list of 10 finalists for “Lie of the Year.” Perhaps sensitive to conservative criticisms over prior Lie of the Year winners (Sarah Palin in 2009 for saying that ObamaCare will create “death panels,” and anyone in 2010 who said the law amounted to a “government takeover of health care”), the fact checkers came up with an evenly split list of 10 nominees: five that were Democratic lies about Republicans, and five that were Republican lies about Democrats. Delaware Gov. Jack Markell’s assertion that “Mitt Romney says he likes to fire people” was there alongside Rush Limbaugh’s claim that ObamaCare includes “the largest tax increase in the history of the world.” And so on.
But the real problem with such lists isn’t the lack of partisan diversity; it’s the glaring lack of lies told to the public in the service of wielding government force. Only one of PolitiFact’s Top 10—Obama blaming 90 percent of the 2009−12 deficit increase on George W. Bush—involved an official lying about his own record. The rest all focused on the way that politicians (and their surrogates) characterized their competitors’ actions and words. This isn’t a check on the exercise of power; it’s a check on the exercise of rhetoric.

Obama is like a con man who you think has everything together. Then you realize all the money is gone, and there is the day of reckoning. And when that day comes, there’s no remorse, there’s no contrition, there’s no recognition of their role. If they cared at all at what their con was doing to people, which they don’t, it would have bothered them at the time. The day of reckoning comes … why should they care then any more than they did all the time they were fleecing you?
And since the media is complicit in the con, in covering up the lie that with some adjustments we’ll be fine … like taxing the rich … we’ll never get any satisfaction from them either. They have the same mindset as Obama. If and when exposed, their lies and covering for Obama won’t bother them at all, because it doesn’t bother them day after day that they do it, why would it ever bother them, even if they are “caught”.

When even North Korea Kim is impressed by the way the press treats Bark, you know something is wrong.

Wanna fix that? It happens because every community large enough to broadcast TV and radio stations, as well as print newspapers, has a local Democrat Congressman who uses the local media as the farm team for his or her media office. And s/he is sure to pick his/her new staff from the local media most on board with the Democrat agenda. So even if a given journalist has no interest in working for the local Democrat Congresscritter, said Congresscritter can make it known that s/he won’t hire *anybody* from a media outlet who runs stories deemed to be “unfriendly,” and given the number of media outlets from which to choose, all that being critical of said Congresscritter will do is incur the wrath of co-workers who believe they were denied an opportunity with the Congressman’s office because of Bob’s expose’ of Congresswoman Libby McGungrabber’s armed bodyguards. Given the liberal tilt of journalism schools, these journalists mostly have no interest in working for Republicans.
So if the House passed an ethics rule forbidding the hiring of former media employees for, say, five years after they leave said media company, that Democrat Congressman can’t hire *anybody* from *any* local media outlet. Thus, Betty penning a conservative op-ed won’t doom everybody at her newspaper when Congressman Ufufu O’Kentecloth needs a new PR guy–because nobody at the newspaper, the TV stations, or the radio station can be hired—only the nobody who as been penning a blog the past five years, or an actual PR person will be hired.
Rather than whine about media bias, do something about it.

According to Obama, there is no media problem.

The media is the enemy.
These fact check sites are just another link in the circle of corruption between The Party, the media, the NGOs and the educational system.
Obama is covered for by the media, just like every other Big Government statist from North Korea to China to Nazi Germany to Venezuela to Zimbabwe. 90%+ of the media is Democrat. You can’t get that without purges and the media has finished purging Republicans from almost every organization. Some still keep a token Republican in op Ed but at least there they are labeled as right wing. Heck even most tokens vote democrat so it becomes obscene.
Fight the media. Take over and replace them or we get destroyed.

Until what, it gets worse? Do you think there is any turning back? We reached the tipping point in 2012 and the demographics now permanently support the welfare state.
The Left (politicians, media, educators) will continue to push until all resistance and opposition (i.e., heresy) is stamped out. It has always been so, why would our experiment end diffirently?

It’s Politifact. What did you expect?
My number one lie of the year: Organizations like Politifact having names like “Politifact.”
