Great video. Always fun to hear a concerned journalist ask, “Are those guns registered?” and worry about what the LAPD and the National Guard would think about people daring to defend themselves.

What is racist is a rich, white, liberal law professor at Harvard telling a 76 year-old, African-American veteran and retired maintenance engineer, who was once a sharecropper in the South, who has been living in the same house in the Morgan Park neighbourhood in Chicago that he had purchased in 1971 where he and other working-class African-Americans carved out their little piece of the American Dream only to watch it deteriorate dramatically and become riddled with crime, that the “coasts” should decide whether he should get to have a Second Amendment right to bear arms to defend himself against the criminals that have continued to break into his home.

What is racist is Alan Dershowitz telling Otis McDonald that he knows what is better for him while living in an Ivy League Tower.

Quite right. Dershowitz is attempting to confuse the issue by suggesting that an unalienable right is not one because some members of society do not exercise that right.

By the way, Alan, what has been quintessentially racist is the Left’s desire to disarm minorities, the poor and the middle class in America. I bet that you would have applauded FDR when he disarmed the Japanese-Americans, along with many thousand German- and Italian-Americans, before he sent them to internment camps.

He’s right. At bottom, it’s not about the Constitution or amendments describing unalienable rights of the people acknowledged within. That’s just words on paper. One needs only respect anyone else’s right to the extent that that other person can enforce that respect.

So, natural rights are only natural to the extent that it is the prevailing view, and as such do not come from nature, but from man. When man lives in society, as all must, rights come from those in the majority that are willing to allow them, as they please.

I appreciate Dershowitz explaining not only his position but also his belief it is up to each to follow their beliefs and effect change politically according to how we want to live and that the resulting new government that is to rule will be based solely on accomplished fact and not necessarily on the rights of individuals.

Dershowitz you are either saying here that because you live on the coast you have the power to shove your half vision of America on the rest of us Americans, OR you are basically calling for state’s rights.

If it is the first reason it is elitist and bigoted toward every other American who don’t live in the “pure air” of the coasts or you are a secessionist advocating that because the majority of America don’t want you vision of America and because it is too hard to change the constitution for your side, which forms this union of states, your side are simply going to defy the will of the majority of this nation and the constitution.

What do you progressives want? State’s rights or federal control…
