Obama supporters shocked, angry at new tax increases
“I know to expect between $93 and $94 less in my paycheck on the 15th,” wrote the ironically named “RomneyLies.”
“My boyfriend has had a lot of expenses and is feeling squeezed right now, and having his paycheck shrink really didn’t help,” wrote “DemocratToTheEnd.”
“BlueIndyBlue” added: “Many of my friends didn’t realize it, either. Our payroll department didn’t do a good job of explaining the coming changes.”…
“Bake,” who may have been trolling the site, jumped into the thread posted Friday. “My paycheck just went down. So did my wife’s. This hurts us. But everybody says it’s a good thing, so I guess we just suck it up and get used to it. I call it a tax increase on the middle class. I wonder what they call it. Somebody on this thread called it a ‘premium.’ Nope. It’s a tax, and it just went up.”

Getting close to the point where Social Security and Medicare will be seen as the socialist monstrosities they are by enough people to start cutting the baby boomers off when they need them most.

Typical narcissistic liberal. Everything is someone else’s fault. No personal responsibility whatsoever.

No, it’s not your payroll department’s fault. How’s the kool-aid taste now?

Geee, I wonder how Obama go elected???

That’s right, it’s a good thing, you keep telling yourself that, it’s a good thing.
Dig deep my friend, give up your money, your rights, it’s a good thing…

Let me add: Tax increase, health costs increase…it’s a good thing…of course Obama promised the opposite, and that was a good thing, but this is a better good thing.
right2bright on January 7, 2013 at 1:45 PM
AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
And that’s only the beginning, folks. Nanzi Pelosi said this weekend that the Democrats are going to seek more tax increases on all of us.
Somehow I get the feeling that she still won’t reconsider that political affiliation until it gets a lot more painful for her and her boyfriend.

There are scapegoats to be had.

Here’s what Obama completely lied about:
So the Fiscal Cliff deal was a very regressive tax. This is because the payroll taxes are capped around $110k. So the more you make, the less it affects you as a percent of your total wages.
Cue Nelson Muntz!
Chuck Schick on January 7, 2013 at 2:01 PM
Sorry, slaves. But DC wants its money, so it takes its money. If you don’t like it, then stop demanding the Feds to give you everything. If you’re not willing to do that then shut up and bend over, Obama wants what you got.

These reactions from liberals remind me of Ralphie in A Christmas Story sitting on the crapper decoding.
Hey, liberals: “Be sure to drink your ovaltine!”

That’s the one comfort I can take in all of this over the next 4 years. Throwing this in the face of every idiot who voted twice for this loser. And I’m way past the point of being civil or magnanimous. Unless you were on the take, there was no justifiable reason to pull the lever for Obama in 2012 and I will never let anyone off the hook for that.
Doughboy on January 7, 2013 at 2:11 PM
That’s what I was thinking.
Of course, if it was a Republican President who ended their little “payroll tax holiday,” we’d never hear the end of it. But as long as it’s their Mocha Messiah raising their taxes, well that’s just fine with them.
UltimateBob on January 7, 2013 at 2:13 PM
Sweet, sweet schadenfreude indeed.
Sad thing is though, she still doesn’t get it. She b1tches about the tax increase, but somehow she expects 0bama will “f***ing help me out!!”
I’d like to f***ing help her out of an airplane at 30,000 feet with no parachute.

Del Dolemonte on January 7, 2013 at 2:19 PM
Any conservative could have told you that this day was coming years ago.
It is no surprise to us whatsoever.
They should have listened to us then, they should listen to us now as what we are articulating with increasing frequency is far, far more alarming than a tax hike.
What, exactly, does the average low-information Obama voter think the reason for both the mind-bogglingly large procurement of ammunition by the government and the now years-long boom in sales of firearms to the general public means?
Federalist #46 would be a good place for them to start, but then again, I think that the average Obama voter thinks Federalist Papers are something you can roll your weed in to make a bone.

remember folks:
This tax increase has the Republicans on record in support of it, and in overwhelming majorities in the Senate. So will the next round of increases Obama demands when the GOP caves again on a government shutdown. The GOP shares the blame with Obama.
Could the pragmatists here please remind me how this was the more reasonable option than simply voting present and forcing Democrats and Obama to own these increases (and that’s assuming Democrats would even have voted for the increases without Republicans splitting the blame)?
Daemonocracy on January 7, 2013 at 2:39 PM
While the comments are delicious, this merely returns the payroll tax to its “normal” rate. Remember, when this passed 2 years ago, some on the right argued that this was a bad idea to take money from SS, which was already going broke, and I agree. My point is that this probably should have been done, regardless of who was to be president.
But, I get it, it is important for everyone to feel the pain of SS, especially those on the left that scream every time someone proposes changing it. You guys want the welfare state? -Then pay up!
Sure, old folks paid into it when they worked, but they will generally get out much more than they ever put in as they take their 30 year vacations. My generation will likely see nada and be lucky to keep our 401ks.
cep on January 7, 2013 at 2:40 PM
More of this, please. This is absolutely too funny.
While they were watching Obama on Letterman and praising themselves for being such cool people, the fix was in and they had absolutely no idea.
sherry on January 7, 2013 at 2:42 PM
Pal, you are so easily duped…you think people who have worked for 50 years, put into the SS are going to get “more than they ever put in”…well, the facts are, we will get about a 2% interest rate for all the money we put in the past 50 years. Meanwhile, we built, if you hadn’t noticed, most every road you drive on, most every bridge you drive on, most every KW of electricity you use, every time you flush the toilet, you can flush because of us…you punks can’t even keep up with the maintenance of what we built, let alone build anything.
But you are sure good at whining…and you won’t see “nada” because you didn’t work 60 hours a week with no vacations for 20 years, you depend on 401k’s rather than saving it yourself…and you rely on the government to do too much.
Already the whining…because us adults have done the work, and you haven’t…that’s how it is in the adult world.
right2bright on January 7, 2013 at 3:26 PM
And that is the problem…you are convinced of what is “normal” amount of taxes…how easy it is to manipulate weak minds.
right2bright on January 7, 2013 at 3:27 PM
Wait until 2014, when Obamacare is fully implemented, and their employers are taking even more from their paychecks to make up for the much-higher costs of providing them with health insurance.
Talk about
usefuluseless idiots.AZCoyote on January 7, 2013 at 3:31 PM
I put “normal” in quotes as a substitute for typing: The SS system is going broke and by reducing the rate by 2% for 2 years, it is going broke even faster. There are those that think that it should go broke, and the faster, the better. However, there are those, myself included, that believe the government has been stealing from this “trust fund” for years, and that lowering this particular tax is just a gimmick to get re-elected.
The whole idea of the payroll tax is that it funds your special SS account. Of course, I would rather opt out, but since the government forces me to participate, I would like it to at least be managed responsibly (i.e. not stolen from with “holidays” for a re-election payout) so that the system remains solvent long enough to be reformed without them confiscating my 401k, too.

Very true. I work with a young guy that paid 350 bucks to have his kitchen faucet replaced and he supplied the faucet. He also paid 675 bucks to have his toilet replaced. He hasn’t a clue how to maintain his house or auto.

They only become useless after the coup. At which time they are disposed of.
Dr. Frank Enstine on January 7, 2013 at 4:25 PM
How sad. I had to replace a shower faucet a few years ago, so I bought one I liked at Lowe’s and then called a plumber to see how much they wanted to install it. They gave me a price of almost $900 so I told them to go pound sand. I called a friend who had some plumbing experience and we installed it in a couple of hours with tools I already had, and I took him out to dinner for his help. Total bill, including all parts, under $200.
Installing a new kitchen faucet is even easier, it takes one person less than an hour to do. I hate to see people get ripped off like that, but it’s really a shame that the dude was probably raised by a single mom with no father around to teach him this kind of stuff.
