Israel plans to build Syrian border fence
In remarks at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Syrian Army had moved away from the frontier and that jihadist forces had moved in.
“Therefore, we will defend this border against both infiltration and terrorism,” Mr. Netanyahu said, adding, “I also submit to the cabinet the fact that the Syrian regime is very unstable, that the question of chemical weapons here worries us.” He said that Israel was coordinating with the United States and others “so that we might be prepared for any scenario and possibility that could arise.”
Mr. Netanyahu’s announcement came as he sought to reinforce his security credentials as a strong leader ahead of national elections on Jan. 22, and as he appealed to his traditional supporters to cast their ballots for the conservative Likud-Beiteinu ticket he is leading and not be lulled by polls showing that he is favored to win.

“Plans To”? This implies they haven’t started yet.

The problem is, it’s simply substituting one set of anti-Semitic terrorists for another set of anti-Semitic terrorists.

I have a feeling it will not very long for them to build the fence? Unlike our government, it takes years to build ten miles on our S border!
God be with you Israel.

The Israelis do not build fences.
They build reinforced concrete walls many meters high and man it with soldiers.

That would actually be a Hugh-Jass money maker. Only problem would be that while people WOULD pay to fufill their “shoot th’ Ayrubs” fantasies, their home country might well take a very dim view of their activities overseas.

Yes, reclaim the conversation that the Golan Heights is a part Israel proper. Too much talk last year about returning it as part of a peace deal.

Actually the vast majority of our separation fence is indeed fencing and not concrete walls. The concrete walls are mostly within heavily populated areas. Out in the middle of nowhere it’s electronically secured fencing, with remote monitoring equipment combined with a security road and patrols.

I am of the opinion that as each day passes, more and more real Americans are going to give less and less of a $hit what this government thinks.
