Finally: The coffee-table PC
At first glance, it looks like a regular all-in-one machine in the vein of the iMac: It’s a 27-inch screen with the innards of a Windows 8 computer built into it, and it can stand up on a table.
But you can pick it up off the table, unhook the power cord and lay it flat for games of “Monopoly.” It’s big enough to fit four people around it, and the screen can respond to ten fingers touching it at the same time.
As a tablet, it’s a monstrosity. The screen is the size of eight iPads stitched together, and it weighs 15 pounds. It’s almost as homebound as a flat-panel TV.

Get rid of the games stuff, put Ubuntu on it and lower the price accordingly, and I would be very interested in one.

How will this bring them together?
Have you seen the e-mail floaters with modern dating, both on a unit, modern eating out, all on a unit, etc.?
This will be the same, if ever the 4 even sit down together.

I want one. Or both. Now.

How many times does this idea have to flop before it really dies. People don’t want to be together on a computer. They want to be alone with their devices that they hold in their hands. The only thing worse than sharing a computer, is sharing one you have to hunch over.

Or, you can use an actual Monopoly set. Every home has one.

I would love to see one 60 inches. Just imagine the D&D games!

You have to use your hands? That’s a babies toy.

This is old. I first saw this about 5 years ago.
it’s weird the number of stories that are being reported as “New” and they aren’t. It’s not just HotAir.. I’m seeing this on a lot of blogs. Some story reports some new finding and like, I read that 3 years ago.
One of the biggest ones was a film of why Honey Bees die. It showed a Honey Bee stinging someone close up and you could see it flying away and leaving its guts on the guy’s arm. It was advertised as “new.. never before seen.. now we know why they die!” I saw a similar video in 1972 or so in my school. It was common knowledge.
