The hypocrisy of Chris Christie
“Shame on you,” said Christie, with King saying his GOP colleagues “put a knife in the back” of New York and New Jersey. The outrage of these supposed fiscal conservatives was all the more breathtaking for its apparent sincerity.
The bill they loved was stuffed with pork that had nothing to do with Sandy, including $150 million for Alaska fisheries and $17 billion for groups The Wall Street Journal called “liberal activists,” with the money disguised as community-development and social-service grants.
Equally important, the $60 billion figure itself was little more than a edited version of the $80 billion back-of-the-envelope target agreed to by Christie, Gov. Cuomo and Gov. Dannel Malloy of Connecticut. There was no pretense that it was an actual accounting of damage or promise that the money would be spent wisely and efficiently. They were simply trying to get the most they could.
That’s how the game is played. The entitlement culture means windstorms and floods now automatically trigger a claim on federal taxpayers to cover all costs, instantly and without scrutiny.

It’s not just Christie.

I guess you can’t dole out the money as needed, say, on a monthly basis, based on real accounting.

Something about using the word “pork” and “Christie” in the same post is unsettling…

Meanwhile, pundit and authoress Ann Coulter, the lead Plaster Caster devotee of Chris Christie and up until recently his greatest promoter and apologist, has put her extensive Christie collection up for auction on EBay.
The winner must provide the three dozen jewelry ring boxes necessary for shipping.

Meh, who is this Chris Christie you speak of? One of Ann Coulter’s paramours?…/s

Christie is done in national politics. He French-kissed Obama right before the election, stabbing Romney in the back. Now he gives Boehner the same treatment because Boehner wouldn’t give him a pork-laden bill when the country is bankrupt.
This man is decidedly NO conservative.

Of course not, it would take sensible adults for that to happen.
I will say, while not personally affected by Sandy (minor issues,) the man and I know two people who’ve lost their homes. One was a rental property/second home left by parents (Ortley Beach,) the other was a primary home for a 91-year-old widow (Mantoloking-the one that was swept out to sea along with the land it sat on.) The in-law’s second home had about 6″ of water in it.
Not one of them is looking for the “government” to ride to the rescue, so-to-speak. Not one of them is focused on Christie or the Photo-Op-Prezent.
Sensible adults understand their culpability/responsibility in the provisions (insurance/self-funding) they have to become whole again. Others depend on government.
The reason for this post: not all NJ coastal residents want anything near “pork.”

No, he is not a conservative, at least not by my definition of the word.
What no one seems to realize/understand is during the onset of the storm (Oct. 29) to election day (Nov. 6) there were so many w/o power/cable, etc. here (ie, my “minor issues” comment above.)
While hubby and I didn’t have any flooding, we were w/o cable/t.v. for nearly two weeks. Newspapers didn’t hit the local newsstands here until the day before the election. I hadn’t even heard about the disgusting pol-smooch until then. I’m not saying in this state it would have made the difference in the outcome, simply pointing out fact.
Of course Christie’s national ambitions are done. And, thank you, God.
