Obama’s $7 million Hawaiian vacation is an insult to the struggling middle class
The message this sends is one of sheer contempt for the American taxpayer. $7 million may be viewed by the White House as a drop in the ocean compared to the overall size of America’s federal debt, but it is the principle that counts. The vast majority of American people simply couldn’t afford the kind of vacation enjoyed by the US president, not least at a time when 12.2 million Americans are still out of work.
For most of America’s embattled middle class, who, unlike the president have already returned to work, this kind of luxury is simply unimaginable in the current economic climate. And they’ve just been hit hard with a significant rise in their payroll taxes due to the expiration of the Social Security tax break. According to the Tax Policy Center, 77 percent of US households will now be paying more in federal taxes following this week’s fiscal cliff deal.
Barack Obama benefits from a largely deferential liberal press in the United States which rarely questions his opulence in office. It would be unthinkable for the British prime minister to act in the same manner. If David Cameron flew off to Hawaii and billed the British public £5 million for his Christmas vacation, he would be out of a job.

I would have been insulted if he and the family had stayed at the White House and I had to hear the press talk about the great sacrifice.

In normal times, wasn’t this called “grand larceny”?

And like his flippant answer about “inhaling”, that’s the point.
I can, you can’t.

Blacks and white liberals cheer this conduct on.
And to question the conduct is clearly racist.
Nice line about the largely (actually, entirely) deferential press.
The First Amendment is useless if the press doesn’t get in the grill of all politicians.

What? The Emperor needs regular breaks from the hard labor of screaming orders at other people to “just get it done!”; you have no idea how stressful it is on the vocal chords.

LOL, here’s “Equal Time”, from a Dear Leader Fluffer named Morgan Whittaker. Of course, he’s employed by MS-DNC:
http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/01/04/vacation-outrage-right-slams-obama-for-hawaii-trip-ignoring-the-facts/
That “more than a thousand days” Myth was debunked years ago, as it counts as a “whole vacation day” as little as 1 hour of that day. So whenever Chimpy flew from his ranch to hop AF 1 back to Washington, that entire day was counted as a vacation day for him.

I was going to write a mildly snarky comment about the cost of the Royal Family, the UK still separating “head of government” from “head of state,” until I started reading that the Obama family supposedly costs US taxpayers 20 times as much as the Royal Family costs British taxpayers.

obama’s $16 TRILLION (and growing rapidly) faux “presidency” is an insult to struggling American taxpayers.

Time for Michelle Obama to get another photo of her pushing the red cart down a Target aisle. Best to mitigate the damage here and let the dumbest of the dumb think she’s still one of them.

Wouldn’t mind so much if he was flying back to his real home – Kenya, and staying there. Instead he’s got to hang out in Hawaii, where there are still some real Americans living and stationed there in the military.
ericdondero on January 6, 2013 at 11:22 AM
I normally don’t assail presidents for their vacations, as one never really escapes the realities and duties of that office.
However, in a time of great uncertainty, malaise, and at a time when the Preezy himself is repeatedly asking Americans to “sacrifice,” the reciprocity, or lack thereof, of his behavior is pretty astonishing.

I read a few days ago that the amount could be 20M not 7M?
I saw bho/mo going up the stairs of AF1 this morning and from the look of mo’s behind, she spent the entire time eating and setting on that rear?

Wait a second, Bush spent 3 out of 8 years on vacay and yet he still:
- Orchestrated 911
- Started two illegal wars
- Killed thousands of US citizens who were stupid enough to join the military.
- Killed at least 3 million (some reports say 3 billion) innocent muslims
- Stole all the Oil in Iraq and piped it directly to Galveston
- Generated multiple hurricanes in an attempt to wipe African Americans out
- Destroyed the US economy
- Allowed the assaulting weapon ban to disappear = killed babies
- Cut taxes for billionaires, raised taxes on the middle class
Wow – he really was an over-achiever.

Not according to Sunday Good Morning America. They were sad he only got 9 of his 14 day for “real” vacation.

Cry Nile Gardiner. Your tears are so sweet and delicious. Cry more!
Hope the President enjoys his vacation and does it as often as he needs. Even if only to make this loser cry more.

Let’s also not forget what Laura Ingraham pointed out: while in office both Bushes spent their Christmas holidays at Camp David, because by so doing they were in the place where the smallest number of staff were needed for operations and safety, thereby assuring that the maximum number of staff could spend late December with their families. By his actions, Obama insures the exact opposite: a need for maximum staff and a minimum number of them getting the holidays off.

You don’t really care about this country. Of course you and I knew that already. You’re the classic useful idiot and you were too dumb to ask for a reach around. The Democrats love the likes of your ilk.

An insult to struggling taxpayers, eh? Gee, ya’ think?
Reagan spent Christmases in the WH and both Bushes spent theirs at Camp David so that their staff and security agents could be near their families, but we never heard much about that. The Clintons got skewered for spending their first Christmas at Hilton Head and then spent most of the rest of theirs at Camp David. We hear nothing but crickets when it comes to the millions and millions Louie and Marie Obamuh spend on their extravagant vacations, and they couldn’t care less about the peasants who serve them.

In other words, Nessman, you’re admitting now that you had absolutely no problem with Chimpy Bush’s vacations? How Liberal of you to admit it!
A+
BTW, many folks would probably have no issue with Dear Leader going to Hawai’i on vacation, if he had run for pResident as a US Senator from that state. But he didn’t.
Why is he afraid to go to Chicago in the winter, asides from all the Democrat gun killings there?
