@Resist We Much: Re the link, I doubt failed (over)expectations are remotely as conducive to lasting clinical depression and anxiety in individuals as congenital chemical imbalances and natal/post- natal environmental influences. What they may be conducive to is political redistributionism – an exaggerated sense that life is unfair and that life’s material winners should be forced to pay for their undeserved luck.

Italy is an odd place. It’s basically two countries. Northern Italy is an industrious 1st world country. Southern Italy is a third world country. Spain is the same way. Cataluna is a first world country and Andalusia is a third world country.
