Democrats already looking for the right woman for 2016
Anxiety among Democrats has ticked up in recent weeks because of Clinton’s hospitalization for a blood clot near her brain. Clinton’s physicians have said she will make a full recovery and should be back at work in the coming week. But the medical scare has forced some in the party to take more seriously Clinton’s statements that she doesn’t plan to subject herself to another campaign.
Privately, Democratic strategists acknowledge if Clinton chooses not run, the list of women who could plausibly run for president next time is relatively short. Several top Democrats mentioned Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York as potential candidates. Many liberal Democrats would like to see Warren run, but she has emphatically ruled out a campaign only a few years into her first Senate term…
But in 2013, there will be only one Democratic woman governor: Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, elected to her first term last month. The Granite State — which plays a critical role in choosing presidential nominees — made history in 2012 by electing an all-female House and Senate delegation, as well as Hassan and a female speaker of the state House of Representatives.
Against that backdrop, it could look simply anachronistic for a Democratic nomination fight to play out between, say, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Yes.. without Clinton, it is very unlikely that the Democrats win.

their bench is really pathetics if Shillary bows out
I still don’t think there’s any way in heck Bill will be able to pass up the chance to be back in the mix for another 8 years
But you can start to see the Dems go bipolar– complete arrogant confidence if Hillary runs, versus the realization they have nobody at all if she doesn’t
Their bench is absolutely atrocious

She only took office here in NH last week. Yep, she’s eminently qualified to be President.
/
What folks forget about her was that she was previously rejected by NH voters in 2010 (not as a candidate for Governor, but in a state rep re-election bid). The only reason she won this time was because her “opponent” was even more mediocre than she is, and was of the wrong sex.

They’re looking for the right woman candidate, not the best candidate. Says a lot doesn’t it.

BTW… I love the fact that O’Malley is in the mix. Guy is the definition of smarmy politician. Geez, was Petyr Baelish unavailable? http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Petyr_Baelish*
*The same actor played a smarmy Baltimore politician in the Wire and Littlefinger in Game of Thrones.

Well, if they’re looking for a woman well versed in vote fraud I hear Gregoire is an expert… not to mention quisling Moocowski adept at gaming the system and a judge or two of easy virtue to get on the ballot in Alaska.

Their bench is pathetic even if she doesn’t. Hillary represents the same leftist poison in different packaging. She’s the Kim Kardashian of politics: famous for being famous. An empty pantsuit.

Just ask Samuel L. Jackson.

With Hillary Clinton, it is very unlikely they win the presidency in 2016. Fatigue with Democrats, she’ll be 69 and looking every single year, and she’ll be tainted by Obama (who will be decidedly less popular in 2016). It’s pure Dem fantasy that she’ll win, and they’re desperate to find a woman because they torpedoed the best shot for a woman president in years by shoving her aside in favor of the unqualified golden boy. They will fail. I simply do not understand how self-respecting feminists can accept the Democratic party’s bad faith and not the Republican Party’s bad faith. We have far more women on a plausible pipeline to the presidency.

Dems have to be thinking to nominate Mooch.
She has favorables that could win it, and they can continue their lavish lifestyle.

Michelle O can be Obama’s Beard for his 3rd term as President. It is already rumored she is the Beard for Obama’s Homosexual lifestyle.

I still say Obama wanted to groom Susan Rice for his replacement. But I guess that’s been blown out of the water.
The Hagel nomination for Defense is his revenge.

Yes, folks, a woman: Democrats realized they won purely through identity politics in ’12, and can’t give it up now.
But Hillary included, the bulk of their bench is white, white baby. Even dredging up a woman or minority somewhere may not help. A big reason Gore lost in 2000 was because people were tired of Clinton, but couldn’t vote against him. The next Democrat will not be 0bama, and that will be a problem for him/her.

And for the 100th time already, the Dem nom in 2016 will be Sen Tammy Baldwin from Wisconsin.
Female, lesbian, gosh it would be so historic.

What? No mention of the fearsome abby normal brain train of Patty Murray, Barbara “Senator Ma’am” Blockhead, and Sheila Jackass-Lee?

I think Clinton’s health is a serious issue. Without radical improvement over the next year to eighteen months — meaning that we see photos of Hillary doing something age-appropriately sporty — she’s not running.
The Dems hate, hate, hate the fact that Republicans nominated Palin. Now moreso because they last nominated a woman for the national ticket nearly 30 years ago, and that woman has deceased.
If Hillary doesn’t run, expect to hear serious buzz about Gillibrand of New York (most intensively), Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas/HHS, or remotely, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
Robert_Paulson on January 6, 2013 at 11:03 PM
Nonsense.
They’re going to nominate a black man, and he’s going to win.
Our next president will be Deval Patrick, take that to the bank.
