Boy we are a stupid people. The mere fact that he has to visit Israel this early tells you *everything* that you need to know.

This is a good development for me. I am wager to be able to fully support Rand Paul, but have been hesitant because I find his father and some of the Paulistinians on the wrong side of all things Isreal, not just foreign aid.

We can’t afford to be redistributing American tax dollars to foreign countries. If individual Americans want to give their hard earned cash to foreign governments that should be their choice but we should not put a gun to people’s head, take their money and give it to foreigners.

Oh yeah, it is the Ron Paul screed! I know what you mean, what we should do is collapse into our own little cocoon and hope that the resulting geo political turmoil that comes about does not cost us far more.

I do not see Rand as ending up a star, he will end up like his dad. That nut did not fall far from the tree. The only other alternative I see as likely is that he tries to move as far away from his dad’s legacy as he can and he becomes another inside the beltway politician. Actually becoming a solid conservative with popularity though, pretty close to the bottom of the choices.

I’m a hell of a lot more comfortable with a Rand Paul as president than a Chuck Hagel as SoD, to say nothing of SCOAMF as president.

I always find myself nodding in agreement with Ron Paul on a variety of issues but then he opens his mouth on foriegn policy and I just cringe. If Rand goes down that road he has zero chance. I really like him so far…I hope he is smart about this.

Damage control for his fathers anti-semitism. Like any candidate, hes beginning to get his ducks in a row. The hitch during the primaries would be foreign policy. If Rand follows his pops fp, hes sunk. He’ll have to keep his pops supporters happy too (can’t let those millions that Paulians give go to waste, can he?). It’ll be an interesting balancing act.

I agree - EXCEPT and specifically in the case of Israel. It is the only country where foreign aid has paid back huge dividends in our own security and prosperity.
