Peter King: On second thought, Boehner is a voice of reason
Asked whether he stands by yesterday’s criticism, King said, “I stand by what I said at the time,” adding that he felt “shock therapy” was necessary. “Did you mean it though?” Matt Lauer asked.
“At the time, I did,” King replied. But having said that, King noted that he did meet with House Speaker John Boehner, who agreed to put everything they wanted on the calendar. Boehner is a “friend,” he added.
Lauer pressed King, reminding him that he deemed Boehner’s attitude toward the people of New York and New Jersey to be “dismissive” and “cavalier.”
“What’s done is done,” King said. “The fact is, when the money was on the line, the decision had to be made. John Boehner made the right decision. John Boehner agreed to put it all on the calendar.” Though he wished it would’ve been done earlier, the congressman argued, “If we’re going to carry grudges the rest of our lives, we’ll never get anything done.”

Lauer seems a lot more interested in the criticism of Boehner and furthering the GOP divide than he does on the meat of the matter. Were there questions about the pork in the bill, or concerns about spending so much when we’re broke?

Peter King is a jerk. He has been pretty good on islamic nutcases but he’s lost it. He makes quite a number of stupid votes and then gets up and cries about the Crybaby Boner for all the wrong reasons.
Why do the rest of us have to pay out tribute to New York and New Jersey just because they had a storm that their governments weren’t able to deal with in a reasonable manner? Screw them.
$60 billion … what a friggin joke. New Jersey’s whole budget is less than $30 billion and Christie used that storm to do everything he could to saddle the rest of us with Barky and make sure that life in this nation would be as bad and pathetic as possible before we finally have the national divorce needed. And the midget Stalin in New York can reach into his own pocket to give New Yorkers some money. He had no problem spending hundreds of millions to buy a job that pays 6 figures. Let him dip in for a few billion to help them out in their time of need … if he really cares. But leave the rest of us alone. It isn’t our job to pay for your storm damage.

Not if you’re a Democrat. Shrieking demagogues go to the head of the line.

I bet you’ll be the first to whine when a storm hits the Gulf or South or Midwest, complaining about Obama’s incompetence at getting you govt aid. Screw you.

I bet you have no idea what you’re talking about. But, I’m sure that doesn’t bother you. You seem to revel in your ignorance.

By your reasoning, I should have resisted any govt aid to them since I don’t live there.
