Audio: “Some Republicans don’t have the stomach for the fight”
HANNITY: The deal in every way is a bad deal, and it’s one, frankly, that conservatives should have rejected outright. But from the very beginning, because there was a time frame on this, the president used that to his advantage and he argued that Republicans were going to bring the nation over the fiscal cliff and everybody’s taxes were going to go up. So, he had the media on his side and some Republicans didn’t have the stomach for the fight. And that’s troubling to me. When are they going to have the stomach for this fight?

Didn’t this guy come out in support of amnesty? Amnesty is far worse than this.

Yes; yes; and the only things today’s GOP has even the remotest interest in fighting against, evidently, are:
A.) conservatives; and –
B.) conservatism.

“Fight”? Fight what? This is not the time for a “fight”. Had this been June and we were talking next year, that is a different story. We are talking January and this year. That means businesses NEED to know how much to withhold from employees. Forms have to be printed for quarterly estimated tax payments, etc. This is not the time to go dinking around with this year’s tax rates. NEXT year’s fine. Right now you need stability for this year.
This deal avoided MASSIVE tax increases on about 99% of the people. 77% are going to have to pay a little more in the returning of the social security withholding tax to what it is supposed to be. That should have never been lowered in the first place. Social Security is going cash negative and lowering that tax was a stupid idea in the first place.
Now … the Republicans can fight the debt ceiling battle in two months. That is the big battle anyway. THAT is the one that really controls spending levels. The current continuing budget resolution also expires in March. So … most of what the Republicans want to do is STILL doable, just in March instead of in December. That’s fine. The Democrats spent a lot of their political capital in December. We get to come back to this issue in March except for the tax rates. All of the spending side of the debate is still up for debate later this year. The Republicans didn’t GET anything, but they really didn’t give up much either. The Democrats are still going to have to deal with all of this again in a couple of months.

Not this August, nor this September; you have this year to do what you like. Not next August, nor next September; that is still too soon … But the year after that or the year after that they fight.

Interesting approach towards test marketing the GOP’s presidential campaign slogan, come 2016.
I see no way such an ingenious master plan could ever conceivably fail. Onward to VICTORY — !!!

OK, where was crosspatch in summer of 11 and 12? Inquiring minds want to know.

The GOP’s default motto seems to be “Now’s not the time to fight” or “This isn’t the hill to die on.” It’s convenient ‘cuz you can use them any time. Always. For eternity. See, I told you it was convenient.

Not until after the Tea Party has purged the spineless wimps out of the party.
It’s not a question of Purity either.
It’s a question of Loyalty!
