Dems fear Scott Brown may run for governor instead of senator
It would be much more devastating to Democrats if a Republican such as Brown were to take over the Corner Office, and that’s what has party leaders most concerned.
And Brown’s prospects of getting elected governor look to be much brighter than in another Senate race later this year. By 2014, Democrats also will be seriously weakened by a series of scandals and screwups under Gov. Deval Patrick, with several Democratic top lawmakers tainted or even on trial in the Probation Department patronage affair.
Brown would be a perfect choice to clean up Beacon Hill and get Democrats and Republicans to actually work together — much the way former Gov. William Weld and even former Gov. Mitt Romney did.

I imagine Massutushitts is filled to the brim with Kennedys.

This actually is his best bet. MA had a Republican governor for 20 straight years before Patrick. To hold Kerry’s seat for a full term, Brown would have to win two elections in less than 18 months. I can’t see that happening.

Honestly: who cares who governs taxchusetts alongside a what, 97% Democrat majority in the legislature?
Valkyriepundit on January 2, 2013 at 11:59 AM
Of Course he has a better shot at Governor, mostly because no one cares who the Governor is. The Democrats have a veto proof majority in Mass. The governor is irrelevant.

But Patrick is looking to run for the WH in 2016 and is consider by many as viable because of all the wonderful he has done in MA.
Brown will not be governor. He will not be able to over come the hate from both the left and right. If he were smart he would switch to dem because then he would only be hated from one side.

Massholes loves them some RINO governors.
The real scary story – Deval Patrick will be our next president.

I was confused with this:
I didn’t think there were any. MA is a single party state and it will never change.
Dr. Frank Enstine on January 2, 2013 at 12:03 PM
Deval Patrick will be the next president – take that to the bank.

No, he won’t. Going to the race well right after Obama will never play. It’s the womyn’s turn next.

Sorry, in the new tribal America, skin color trumps all.

There will always be more women than any one particular race.
The only way a guy gets the next Democratic nomination is if he’s openly gay. Now they could go for the combo with race which is what Corey Booker may be thinking. Unless Patrick pulls a McGreevey and states “My truth is that I am a gay American.” he can forget 2016.

Sorry, we’re going to have to agree to disagree.
Blacks aren’t going to vote for a woman just because it’s “their turn”, they’re going to vote near 100% for the black guy over a white woman – guaranteed. White Liberals are might split a little more for the woman, but that didn’t help Hillary in 2008 and it won’t help in 2016.
In fact I’ll go out on a limb and state that the democrats will nominate only blacks from here on out, into the next few decades at least.
Rebar on January 2, 2013 at 12:22 PM
The black vote is irrelevant without white liberals. Plus thanks to democratic policies the black vote gets smaller every year. Obama won because white liberals were more concerned about racial guilt than other things. Obama made up for that. It’s now time to right the other “wrongs” they see. Women are overdue and Gay is the new Black.

Anyone who thinks Hillary won’t decimate the primary field and be sewn up by Feb 2016 is clueless. Patrick won’t even run if she decides to. He’ll jockey for a VP spot.
Everyone is walking on tip toes because the Clintons control all the bundlers, money, and consultants. No one can oppose her, they will have zero infrastructure or cash.
As for Brown, being a Gov is an infinitely better job than a Senator. It would be the smart move for him, rather than running his 3rd Senate campaign to get the temporary seat, and a 4th campaign to get the full term in a span of what, 4-6 years?
It’s too bad for us, we have a very real chance of flipping the Senate for 2014 and having him back would be a nice buffer

Yeah, that’s in Georgia. Hardly a surprise. Nationally, thanks to abortion and intermarriage, the percentage of the population which is black is decreasing.

Why would they be afraid of Scott Brown? He’s not far from them anyway.
ddrintn on January 2, 2013 at 1:09 PM
Self identified blacks, hispanics, and brain dead liberals for whom the race card still works – ie most of them – are going to cast their primary vote for the candidate with the darker skin.
Skin color trumps all in the new tribal America, especially in the delegate rich states like Georgia. For a white candidate to prevail over the locked-in black vote will be near impossible.

Which was why Warren was a smart girl to say she was an Indian. She knew all the good little libs and minorities would line right up and pull the lever for her.

Yes! Gas up the truck, Scott.
Fleuries on January 2, 2013 at 1:28 PM
Yeah, you don’t understand demographics very well do you?
Hillary actually received more votes in 2008 than Obama did. The super delegates put Obama over the top. Obama mostly won states in the primary which are RED in the general election. Few democrats so the black vote has a larger impact in the state primary. Hillary received good support even from black women. The super delegates wanted someone besides a Clinton that year. Had Hilary’s name not been Clinton she might have beat Obama outright.

I understand that if 0bama wasn’t black, he would have lost big time, in 2008 and 2012.
You can wave your hand in the air and dismiss the black vote, but that fact that any black candidate will automatically get the black vote and the guilty white vote, is an advantage that will near guarantee winning.
Deval Patrick is black, a Governor, and will continue borrowing vast sums from the Chinese to buy votes from the looters and moochers – no one is going to beat that, even if Hillary comes out as a lesbian.
Rebar on January 2, 2013 at 1:42 PM
I’m dismissing nothing. You on the other hand are dismissing the fact that there are way more women voters than black voters, especially within the Democratic party. Any woman running in the Democratic party is going to as liberal as any black candidate. Policy has little to do with it.

I had forgotten about about that, under the winner take all scenario, Shrilliary would have won the nomination. It just goes to show the special treatment that the idiot abroad has gotten all of his life.

Time will tell if skin color trumps lady parts or no, what we can agree on whoever they pick will be a complete disaster for America.
