<blockquote>I have a section 8 voucher and it’s worse than you describe. My local housing authority board just voted to lower the amount of subsidy they provide for a one bedroom unit. I questioned whether HUD put out a new schedule for payment rates. The answer was no, we just decided to lower it for the coming year. I questioned why only the 1 bedrooms were getting nailed – no answer. But I already know the answer – its a war on older people who are the vast majority of holders of one bedroom vouchers. We as a group have the least ability to handle financial adversity so obviously we are the easieist target so housing authorities can continue to pay high salaries with golden perks.

BTW, have you priced peanut butter lately. It’s practically a luxury nowadays.

The problem with the libs' plan to spend, spend, and monetize:

The Monopoly money is meant to buy real assets: cell phones, airtime on cellular networks, food, fuel, rent....Inflation happens because an asset has real value. When a devalued currency seeks to pay for an asset, it's going to take more currency as the currency is now worth less.

The government is not issuing food stamps per se anymore--it's an allotment of a certain amount of US$ on an EBT card. As the dollar devalues, that allotment will pay for less and less food. Nokia or whoever is going to want a certain value for their phones. As what the US government can pay them shrinks, that maintenance contract will become lower and lower in priority. As the value being paid by a Section 8 voucher to a landlord shrinks, maintenance will become an even lower priority.

Let's see how enthusiastically 0bamaphone Lady is when her phone is held together with duct tape, her EBT can only buy bread and peanut butter, and there's crap all over her bathroom floor.
