The strange thing is that he was the only person during the primary season who openly supported the Paul Ryan plan, whereas the other candidates refused to acknowledge it out of fear that Ryan was going to join the race, but after Huntsman lost, he began joining the Democrat chorus berating the GOP for not being socially liberal. If people thought he were any kind of conservative, he could’ve gotten away with small amounts of that as long as he joined the GOP chorus excoriating the Dems for being fiscally flippant, but he hasn’t done that at all. He’s kissing up to Democrats because they wield more federal power, but they won’t always be in power…and nobody like a turncoat.
