Bad news from Jon Huntsman: The GOP is “devoid of a soul” right now
It’s “troubling” that the party currently doesn’t have a leader or a “defined agenda.” But the good news, he said, is “that will come in time” through the “reformation process.” The GOP must “return the system to the people,” Huntsman argued.
In particular, he noted that the party would do well to embrace a “strong dose of libertarianism.” On social issues specifically, Huntsman said state governments should “absolutely” be able to implement gay marriage…
“The party right now is a holding company that’s devoid of a soul and it will be filled up with ideas over time and leaders will take their proper place,” he said. “We can’t be known as a party that’s fear-based and doesn’t believe in math.”

There’s a soul but it’s being ignored. Bonehead and his little pet Cantor telling congressman to vote for Plan B so Boney doesn’t get embarrassed, and backing it up with threats to rescind committee chairs, that’s the real problem.

Correct. The Democrats have that title all wrapped up and they’re doing quite well with it too.

Jon huntsman can go pound sand. He needs to quit masquerading as a republican.

Agreed but laughable coming from you. You took a role as an ambassador to a communist country from a man an anti-American authoritarian nutjob.
Resume fail.

Next to Charlie Crist, this man is the most empty shell of a human being in politics today.

That Josh Huntsman has about as much traction as socks on a freshly waxed hardwood floor.

It should be one of our demands in the cliff negotiations that the administration must take Grover Huntsman back and send him to China again.

The problem with allowing gay marriage in some states is the clause of the Constitution that requires all states recognize the legal acts of other states. I got married in TN. Now that I live in AR I’m still legally recognized as married. Gays will demand that too. That is the danger in allowing it to be legalized in any state and why it must be fought.
We conservatives may be able to live with gay marriage being legal in some states and not others but the gays won’t. Like all Liberals they are relentless and don’t stop until everyone everywhere follows their rules. They aren’t satisfied to live and let live.
The same is true with fun control. We may be able to accept some reasonable legislation but for Liberals it won’t be enough until there are no privately owned weapons.
There is no compromising with Liberals. Period.

Mike Huntsman is still devoid of a brain. What a friggin loser.

The context here was electoral math; it’s not some endorsement of Bill Clinton’s “arithmetic”.

I thought a soul is what they were trying to rid themselves of?

The GOP does waste a lot of energy on what should be privacy issues allowing it to be boxed in at election time and diverted from what should be the thematic issues of the party (small government and the economy). The exaggerated attention paid to the concerns of religious zealots has little payoff since so many of these people don’t show up at the polls; the results of the last election should have driven this point home for the final time.

Says the man who has no soul, no convictions, no principles, no personality, no charisma. He and Crist would make a perfect couple.

In lieu of real news, the Daily Telegraph runs series covering the likes of John Anderson, noted CNN contributor,Bob Barr, Ross “Did you see that helicopter” Perot, Gary Johnson. If Christine O’Donnell hadn’t already been covered by the Coven Editor of the Telegraph, Huntsman probably would have never been offered the interview.

Soul? Libertarianism? You planning to primary President Gary Johnson, Jony? Oh wait…….
tommy71 on December 31, 2012 at 12:30 PM
By “libertarianism”, John Jacob Jinglehuntsman-Schmidt means we embrace the social liberalism part and ignore the pro-free-market and fiscal responsibility part.

The strange thing is that he was the only person during the primary season who openly supported the Paul Ryan plan, whereas the other candidates refused to acknowledge it out of fear that Ryan was going to join the race, but after Huntsman lost, he began joining the Democrat chorus berating the GOP for not being socially liberal. If people thought he were any kind of conservative, he could’ve gotten away with small amounts of that as long as he joined the GOP chorus excoriating the Dems for being fiscally flippant, but he hasn’t done that at all. He’s kissing up to Democrats because they wield more federal power, but they won’t always be in power…and nobody like a turncoat.

Mr. Huntsman, please go home. You are well over your fifteen minutes and are now just embarrassing yourself.
