Politico reporter: Hey, David Gregory was acting in the public interest
And Thrush isn’t the only one. On Wednesday, Howard Kurtz vomited forth a holier-than-thou defense of Gregory, and other journo-tools quickly dismissed the notion that the media should follow the same laws as mere mortals.

Journalists should report on the favorability rating of the NRA compared with that of their own “profession”.

I carry a gun everyday acting in the public interest. It’s in the public’s interest to have as many armed, competent citizens as possible walking the streets.
I wonder what noises we would hear from various press offices if someone were to publish the names, addresses, and daily whereabouts of these talking-heads, in the name of public interest of course.

I must have missed the public interest exception to a law banning possession of a >10 round magazine. Sorry, libs!

All Animals are Created Equal
…But Some Animals are More Equal than others

…With Sheets
Possession of a Magazine with Greater than Ten Rounds Capacity shall be a Felony
…Unless posessed in the Public Interest
It’s Right there blammm, see?

Is there a public interest exception for all laws? Like if I beat the crap out of a pedophile, that’s in the public interest, right?
Mitoch55 on December 27, 2012 at 12:53 PM
That Twitter exchange is classic.

So if I decide that something is in the “public interest” I can act?
LET ME COUNT THE WAYS!!!!!!!!!

Pubic intrest. Sure. And George Bernard Shaw wasn’t joking when he called Jack the Ripper a “social reformer.”

This tweet back at Thrush should be gold-plated and displayed prominently somewhere on the DC mall:

I think it’s in the public interest to arrest Gregory. Only by having a gun-grabber like him arrested for the same laws they advocate will the gun-grabbers realize how stupid the laws they want are. Not enacting stupid laws is in the public interest, Q.E.D.

He should be incessantly waterboarded.

I’m not sure if committing a felony on national television could actually be viewed as being “in the public interest”. Now, if Gregory were arrested and perp-walked on national television, that would definitely be in the public interest.
Pork-Chop on December 27, 2012 at 1:11 PM
If it was televised we would be able to determine by the ratings if the public was interested.
That’s the same as the public interest, right?

Beautifully done. Shame the
religious typescult members won’t understand it.rogerb on December 27, 2012 at 1:18 PM
Tyrannical leftists, here’s a friendly note, one from lots of experience. Your dictators hate you the most and you will be punished first. Dictators absolutely hate weasels. Otherwise they wouldn’t be dictators.

So was George Zimmerman.

Wow. You make up a story to justify calling people hypocrites. That’s really pathetic.
At least I’m sure that if O’Reilly or Hannity did the same thing that liberals would be calling for their heads. No, if they even showed a picture liberals would be calling for their heads. Mainly because liberals are that stupid and HYPOCRITES!!!! to boot.
See how really stupid that sounds. Now you know how stupid you sound but I’m sure you are a real brainy person around your liberal friends. I know this because you didn’t spell any words wrong but, your grammar and punctuation really stinks.

Hey, I got my first Twitchy tweet on that one.
The magnitude of these tools’ hypocrisy is simply mind-boggling, and the idiots are completely oblivious to it. I wonder what they see when they look in the mirror.
novaculus on December 27, 2012 at 1:50 PM
They can’t relate to that because they are too stupid to understand history. Remember that the psycho Che is a hero to liberals.
Dr. Frank Enstine on December 27, 2012 at 1:55 PM
Well, I do agree that an “empty magazine” serves the public interest as a perfect metaphor for Mr. Gregory and most of his fellow journo-lists, not to mention a most literal one for Obama fanboi newsletters like Time, Newsweek, etc.
drunyan8315 on December 27, 2012 at 2:33 PM
They now believe their duty is activism first in a newsy sort of way.
NeoKong on December 27, 2012 at 2:36 PM
You completely misunderstood cmsinaz. She was calling the radical leftists hypocrites because they would be calling for Hannity’s head if it was him doing what Gregory did. She is definitely not a liberal!
Night Owl on December 27, 2012 at 3:01 PM
A tyranny isn’t a tyranny so much because it has too many laws. It becomes a tyranny when those laws are selectively enforced.
Thrush wants a tyranny. He wants the press to take the place of a judge, to interpret laws created by the people’s representatives. More than that, he wants to decide to whom those laws do or don’t apply.
