Bad news: Matt Damon gives up on politics
“I assume there will be some Supreme Court appointments in this next term; that alone was reason to vote for him,” Damon told Playboy magazine in its January 2013 issue. “I don’t think I said anything a lot of people weren’t thinking. It’s easier now more than ever in my life to feel the fix is in, the game is rigged and no matter how hard you work to change things, it just doesn’t matter.”…
“We’re at a point where politicians don’t really get any benefit from engaging with long-term issues. Instead, it’s all about the next election cycle. Those guys in the House don’t do anything now but run for office. So unless they can find some little thing that zips them up a couple of points in the polls, they’re not interested. There’s a consensus among scientists, though, that we face serious long-term issues. They’re saying that unless we engage with those issues, we’re genuinely f*cked. The way it looks, we’re going to wait until one of those big issues smacks us.”

Oh no. I guess I will have to continue to not give a rat’s ass about Damon and what he thinks.

I bet that big thing called the debt hits us before any of the other “big things” the liberals are wetting themselves over.

Matt Damon gives up on politics, and nobody noticed.

So he basically complains that the game is rigged and the fix is in, right after saying he voted for The Empty Pantload because The Empty Pantload would be able to further rig the game and make sure the fix is in.

What are you people thinking….
Maaaattttt Damonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
Did none of you people watch Team America?

Scientists? What the hell is he talking about? Climate change? We ARE facing serious long-term issues, but of the fiscal variety. Hell, thanks to your boy, Barry, they’ve been fast-tracked to becoming short-term issues, quite possibly within the next couple years. And yes, we are “genuinely f-cked” with the current crop of politicians we’re stuck with since they have no inclination to deal with any of these problems.

Things will just get worse now.

Matt Damon – least consequential political spokesman ever.
At least I liked “The Informant”.

Our apologies, Matt Damon; we ran out of time for you ages ago.

Why should I care what a play-actor thinks?
OldEnglish on December 28, 2012 at 12:46 AM
Bingo.
He also complains that “Those guys in the House don’t do anything now but run for office.” Besides running for office, I wonder what Damon thinks that 0bama has ever accomplished in his life?
UltimateBob on December 28, 2012 at 4:34 AM
he could go be president of the Film Actors Guild…..

Matt Damon is under the mistaken impression that anyone gives a rip about what Matt Damon thinks.
ted c on December 28, 2012 at 7:49 AM
I do NOT agree with Damons politics in the slightest but this quote
is pretty much on the mark (save for the “climate” crap)….too bad he looks at things from entirely the wrong perspective. Yeah I know he`s a raging leftist anti-everything big nanny loving tool but he did lay out the current political “climate” (badddum-tiss) pretty well.

Being a good leftist Mattt Daaaamon thinks Gorbal Warming is the most pressing issue.
cobrakai99 on December 28, 2012 at 9:01 AM
Okay, so his guy won and Damon is still frustrated…he’ll be back.
I stopped adding to the box office receipts for anything coming out of Hollywood years ago. I refuse to give one single dime to a Matt Damon and all those just like him. Local theater has taken their place.
