D.C. police investigating David Gregory for displaying high-capacity magazine on TV
Breitbart contacted the office of the police chief and asked if there were any plans to look into this apparent violation of the District’s gun laws. In response, Chief Lanier replied, “Yes, we are investigating the incident to determine if the magazine was in fact real.”
We will continue to watch this developing story.

I’m sure the DC police will conclude that it is OK for hypocrite liberal “journalists” to posess whatever illegal weapons or components they want.

But Gregory is a journalist/democrat. He’s a member of the Nomenklatura. The rules don’t apply to him. Rules are for little people.

Boy wouldn’t that be some schadenfreude if he gets busted for having that magazine.

I hope his cellmate has an 18″ weiner.

Don’t nobody hold your breath on this one.

Nothing like getting an assist from the police.
[Police]: “Just tell us it was a ‘fake’ magazine, and this all goes away Mr. Gregory”.
“oh, in regards to your request, we’ve added extra security to your kids school.
[Gregory]: “Do they have the high capacity stuff I requested?”
[Police]: “Yep.”
[Gregory]: “Thanks. Gotta go. I’m taping a gun control special and I’m running late”

The finding no matter what the truth is will be that it was a TV/Movie prop and not real.

Yup! The police need an out for the problems associated with the selective prosecution and establishing the law as nothing more than a bill of attainder.

LOL. Gregory claimed it was real on TV. Isn’t that prima facie evidence of some sort? We all know that it was real. It’s not as if there’s much to a mag, anyway. If it fits in a gun then, by the DC law, it is pretty much “real” since the law only requires that it “be able to made functional” not that it is functional at the moment. All it would take to make it “functional” (by DC standards, for sure) would be to throw a spring in it.
I’ll bet if I whipped one of those mags out on a street in DC I’d be arrested and the “investigation” would take place while I waited in jail.

“We’re investigating this”…*nod nod..wink wink*

I’d give a lot to see him fire a Ruger #1 in .450 nitro express. Then we can discuss mags. Mmmkay?
wolly4321 on December 25, 2012 at 3:28 PM
And of course there will be no mention of this investigation on any of the nitwit networks of NBC.
stukinIL4now on December 25, 2012 at 3:29 PM
This will go nowhere. The authorities would have to prove that the magazine was real, functional and capable of holding more than ten rounds. Without the actual magazine and a chain of custody proving it was unaltered, there’s just no way they can do that.
PersonFromPorlock on December 25, 2012 at 3:41 PM
Or they can just take David Gregory at his word.

Laws are for little people, not people who send their kids to the same school as president puppy-muncher’s.

Rules don’t apply to the Omedia.

He needs to plead the 2nd Amendment and Heller. That way if he wins, there is a legal precedent. If he loses, a lib gets slapped. A win/win for the good guys.

And obama is investigating Benghazi. Whatever.

I admit to a certain low pleasure at the thought of Mr. Gregory claiming under oath to have ‘only been dramatizing’ on national TV: but it would solve his legal problem and be quickly papered over.
