“Stop talking to blacks like they are children to whom the truth cannot be told”
“Racism is no longer a major issue in this country. Racism is no longer a major issue in this country. Racism is no longer a major issue in this country,” he wrote in an email. “That Democrats have convinced blacks otherwise, is an affront.”
Elder argues that the greatest threat to the black community is not racism, but the scourge of absentee fathers.
“To avoid poverty, UCLA public policy professor James Q. Wilson said that everyone — not just blacks — must do three things: finish high school, don’t become a parent until at least the age of twenty, and get married before having a child. Do this and you will not be poor,” Elder said.

UCLA public policy professor James Q. Wilson will very soon be without a job I’m guessing

I do that everyday. I’m not a racist liberal.

Fine. Just tell blacks to quit acting like children, taking offense where none is given and crying racism at the drop of a hat.
flataffect on December 24, 2012 at 5:35 PM
Why?
The democrats talk to them like that, and they get 95%+ of their votes.

Larry Elder is a favorite of mine. Wish he were more recognized within the libertarian/conservative movement.
I didn’t know of his ordeal with his father until recently. What a fine human being is he.

Larry Elder is a Republican. Has been for years.
He is resoundingly consistent and is one of few who can successfully argue conservative principles by backing them up with data and documents.
You’ll remember him from being referenced as a potential voice for this message .
He can also drive the stake pretty deep and right into the heart in ways few people will.

Also he deals with all fools equitably.

I’m just giving you fair notice that I will be shamelessly stealing this for future use.
Brilliant, and altogether too true.

Elder says that to the GOP??? How about getting the LEFT to stop treating blacks like stupid children?
Warner Todd Huston on December 24, 2012 at 5:56 PM
Sure, it is always Republicans who have to explain truth and logic to people who are not even willing to listen. How about someone from their own community tells them these things ?
If blacks cannot understand this simple fact on their own, no one can make them understand that. No one .

If that message had not been cancelled, the GOP base might not have sat out the election, and the election may not have been lost. We begged them to take the fight to Obama, but we were begging to wusses. Deja vu 2008.

This is inflammatory stuff, the LA riots in the 90′s started over less.

The full package of all available welfare benefits is better than having a $60,000 a year job.
If we want to eliminate “poverty” we need to stop making it so attractive and comfortable.
It truly is a lifestyle choice that is aggressively pushed upon people by government agencies that exist to provide it.
The solution would be to stop trying to change people’s behavior but to shut off the spigot.
NeoKong on December 24, 2012 at 6:39 PM
Frankly, I’m tired of hearing about “the blacks” and/or “black voters”. Their wanton lust for the democrat party is beyond reason, and it’s time we moved on.

…redundant ?
cableguy615 on December 24, 2012 at 7:07 PM
The GOP always has. It’s the democrats who treat them like ignorant children…. and sadly it works well for them.
HotAirian on December 24, 2012 at 8:45 PM
I’m not so sure about that. I don’t think Michael Steele did. I think he pandered to them like infants.
Allen West, far better.

Have they tried ACTING like adults before they demanded, yet again, to be (supposedly) spoken to as such? If anyone has observed this, please say so.
