Rasmussen
Poll: 17% say we have too much individual freedom
The Bill of Rights was written to ensure every citizen in this country his or her personal freedoms, but 17% of Americans believe there is too much individual freedom in the United States today.
Sixty-six percent (66%) of Adults do not believe this to be true, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Another 18% are not sure.

I agree, only by “we” I mean liberals.

Well, then we should take the 17% and make slaves out of them. That would certainly boost the economy, not to mention the trade deficit.

The problem isn’t freedom, it’s people who treat their freedom as license.

17 + 66 + 18 = 101%???

I defend the right of idiots to believe and say idiotic things.

Rounding error, probably.
JeffWeimer on December 24, 2012 at 12:35 PM
Well how about those 17% and the 18% who aren’t sure, leave the US, go to china, russia, any rop type country? They will see if they have ‘too much individual freedom’ in those countries!

how many freedoms are those 17% willing to give up? or are they just trying to take others’ freedoms away while conveniently keeping their own, yep.

That 17% need to be rounded up and put into their own little enclave away from the rest of us. That way, they can only oppress themselves.
trigon on December 24, 2012 at 12:44 PM
The 16% are clearly Obama supporters.

Every one of those 17 and 18%’ers can go eff themselves, they’re the asshats who push the socialist freaks like Fauxcahontas over the finish line.

Exactly. Victor Frankl, in his book “Man’s Search for Meaning,” wrote that in addition to the Statue of Liberty, we needed to build a Statue of Responsibility. He hit the nail on the head.

That’s because the 1% are different from you and I, unless of course you’re in the 1% – in which case gimme something now dammit!!!!

Well, that’s most polite way I’ve heard it expressed.

They all deserve to be slaves, literally.

Freedom to abort babies seems to be a freedom too far.
Freedom to live work free is a freedom too far.
Freedom to enslave other people’s children to pay for luxurious multi decades long end of life vacations is a freedom too far.
Freedom to have your medical bills paid for by other people is a freedom too far.
Freedom to vote tax hikes for the other part of the population while voting to have your own taxes reduced is a freedom too far.
Freedom to vote while not paying for the government and its programs you vote for is a freedom too far.
There are plenty of personal free choices which should not be allowed at all in our society.
I would argue that a very pro life person would fit well into the realm of this nation’s people have too much freedom.
I would argue that a small government proponent would fit well into the realm of this nation’s people have too much freedom.

The pre-election polls demonstrated that 23% of the population is insane, so the 17% number surprises me as being a little low. Take away their right to answer polls and see what they think. Although I’m not quite sure how you’d find out. Doesn’t matter though, does it?

there is a wall for that.

So Rasmussen was polling the Dembeciles and their libturd supporters? Maybe it would make those 17% feel like they have a more right amount of freedom if they were locked up immediately.
stukinIL4now on December 24, 2012 at 1:52 PM
My thoughts were along the same lines. Without knowing what freedoms they feel are to many the whole thing is worthless.
Frank Enstine on December 24, 2012 at 1:53 PM
And yet Obama was re-elected.
