Kay Bailey Hutchison: Semiautomatics and high-capacity magazines need to be looked at
“It’s the semi-automatics and those large magazines that can be fired off very quickly,” Hutchison continued. “I think we should be looking at those mega-opportunities as one of the things that might be looked at.”

I’d like to look at some automatics and mags but the shelves are bare. can you do anything to stimulate production of those items?
tom daschle concerned on December 24, 2012 at 3:09 PM
Yup, I totally agree… Time for a Mandatory Federal Firearms Law, Enter the Affordable Firearms Act.

Another one that just really wants to be liked by the media and the Washington Elites. She must need some more cocktail parties to go to so she decide to toss a Constitutional right or two over the transom.

That’s why we have gun shows sweetheart.

Leave us the hell alone.
Your “good intentions” are robbing us, enslaving us and will kill us.

Thomas Payne was wrong, THESE are the times that try men’s souls.

Kay Bailey Hutchison needs to stick to promoting abortion (and acting like she’s not doing it), and keep her paws off of our gun rights. Moving on …

Thank God and all the angels that she’s been replaced by Ted Cruz.

Sorry the rest of the US for this old harpy! It seems we have several harpies here, dear kay and that gal with two last names from Houston? dear kay has to go out with a bang it seems telling the rest of the US how stupid she is?
We got a new senator to take dear kay’s place, TED CRUZ and hopefully he won’t be anything like dear kay?

So, Remington 1100s are out and 870s are still in? Ruger 10/22s will be verboten? It seems so unfair. Isn’t fairness supposed to drive all our decisions?

“Mega-opportunities”? It looks like KBH wants to join the ranks of dead meat Republicans.

This is where the right and NRA need to coalesce and make a very simple yet important point:
The 2nd Amendment was not established so that people could hunt without reproach. It was established so the citizenry can do their best to ensure a “free society.”
blatantblue on December 24, 2012 at 3:30 PM
I hate to be repetitive but, we really must attack the “hunter” angle that the left and POS Republicans are taking.
They’re using the rhetorical angle of hunters to lull people into gun control.

Can we PLEASE get someone to talk about firearms that knows something other than that they go bang? You would think somebody in the GOP would get schooled on weapons so they don’t look like a dope when they try to answer the Libs questions/accusations. Say for example how much worse the carnage would have been if that nutjob had been using a 12 gauge or that I can change a magazine out in about 1.5 seconds and if nobody else is shooting at me I could take my time. And why is the Left talking about background checks and selling weapons to people on the No Fly List? WTF does that have to do with Sandyhook? And why doesn’t someone in GOP call them on it? Lack of stones I guess.
major dad on December 24, 2012 at 3:45 PM
I’m tempted to postulate it’s lack of stones and intellect.
Republicans are always horrendous at debating things.
blatantblue on December 24, 2012 at 3:52 PM
THIS X 1000…
It’s not about shootin’ varmints and deer hunting you fricking morons! The 2nd amendment is to make sure we can put very precise holes in the foreheads of liberals with badges that knock down our doors to take what the state deems necessary….Don’t couch the argument in stoooopid hunting tales…we have the RIGHT to defend ourselves…from TYRANNY!!!
Tim Zank on December 24, 2012 at 3:53 PM
Fixed that.

Bye, Kay. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Rip Ford on December 24, 2012 at 3:56 PM
This is the biggest BS argument ever. Like you’d really, actually do that. You’d probably pee your pants and surrender without a shot being fired. Talk about fantasy. This is comic book stuff.
The 2nd Amendment made sense in an 18th century context, not in a 21st. Repeal the 2nd Amendment!
lostmotherland on December 24, 2012 at 3:57 PM
Lame. Surely you can do better than that. The rapier is superior to the club.
a capella on December 24, 2012 at 3:59 PM
You’re very good at talking a lot without saying much at all.
By all means, elaborate. Educate us.
blatantblue on December 24, 2012 at 3:59 PM
I’ve had to use my guns twice in the last 5 years and it wasn’t about hunting. I had to take care of a couple of Mohave Green rattlesnakes that decided they liked hanging out close to the house and the green house. Sorry I’m not interested in a discussion that will make it harder to protect my family and myself from all species of dangerous critters.

Bolshevik.
But at least have the guts to do it properly, with a Constitutional Convention, not some Executive Order from The Punk at 1600 Penn, or some trick with Harry Reid’s Senate.

When you think about.. look at it all truthfully… it’s been government that has screwed up everything. Politicians. They created this mess. They can’t fix it. Only the people can.
Politicians keep us from locking people away for good. They keep us from executing those who deserve it. They protect the guilty and punish the innocent. They took God and any kind of real education from our schools and turned our children over to perverts and Marxists. They attack our speech. They attack our faith. They allow and many support the killing of the unborn. They’ve destroyed hope in the future for many of the youth by wrecking our economy and jobs.
If you really had to blame someone other than the shooter… look at Washington DC. Congress and the Presidents.
And at every turn, at every crisis.. they blame us. Our freedom. Our liberty. Our wealth. Our property. Our religion. We are always to blame for the mess they create. Have they ever blamed themselves for anything? They never will.

Remember big gov types of all parties love themselves some gun control.
CW on December 24, 2012 at 4:59 PM
Personally, I like the “survivors will be buried” sign.
But to see signs from usually low key gun owners letting criminals know who the passive sheep are is so…schadenfreudilicious.
cozmo on December 24, 2012 at 5:02 PM
Mine says “Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.”
Dr. Frank Enstine on December 24, 2012 at 5:13 PM
I wonder if they could be sued if a break in occurs?
I also don’t get it. The anti-gun people think gun owners are crazy and can’t be trusted. Isn’t it kind of real stupid to publish the names and addresses of what you beleive are crazy, unstable, paranoid people that are just waiting for an excuse to shoot up someone.
Dr. Frank Enstine on December 24, 2012 at 5:17 PM
I find it hard to believe your local Walmart is sold out, Kay. Not to worry, I’ll e-mail you the names of a few of other places you can shop.

Great, start a movement to amend the Constitution to disarm the American people and leave them at the mercy of the federal government.
Until then, stop trying to grab my firearms.
