Don’t bet on Boehner being replaced
Republican dissidents, who believe Boehner has been too accommodating to liberals and too quick to punish conservative rebels, point out that a speaker must be elected with 218 votes, an absolute majority of all House members, including Republicans. Ballots continue to be cast until someone gains a majority. If only 17 GOP members publicly go against Boehner or abstain, he could be denied the speakership. Rebels hope that after such a no-confidence vote, Boehner would withdraw and let other names be put forward, much as Margaret Thatcher did in 1990 when she failed to win a majority vote for leadership of her own party’s members of Parliament…
That is an exaggeration, but the truth is that most GOP members still like Boehner even if they disagreed with him on raising taxes as part of Plan B. At least he didn’t force members to take a vote on Plan B — “a vote many of them didn’t want to have to take,” a top GOP leadership aide told CNN. Peter Roff, a U.S. News & World Report columnist and former adviser to Newt Gingrich, tells me that no one should bet against Boehner.

That’s why the House GOP is absolutely useless. Barky and the dems have only been allowed to carry on with their budgetless, insane, un-Constitutional spending (that makes the Porkulus part of the baseline) because of Weeper Boner and the House GOP, whose friggin job it was to stop that!
For anyone wondering why the last election was such a disaster (even against an ineligible Indonesian retard with the worst record in all of American history and a hate for our nation and culture like noone’s business), look no further than Weeper Boner and the House GOP that colluded with the Dems and the Indonesian for two years to allow them to continue their America-killing, insane policies and spending.

I like Boehner myself, he seems like a decent guy, but voting against him wouldn’t be anything personal and has nothing to do with disliking the guy. He has shown weakness over and over against an immature President, we need someone more firm who’s willing to throw Obama’s rhetoric right back in his face. The biggest problem with Boehner is that he’s allowing Obama to spit out meaningless rhetoric and demagoguery unanswered, and that gets you no where in the United States of Entertainment.

It appears boehner uses the same strong arm thug tactics on r’s, who disagree with him, as bho does with everyone who disagrees with him! I don’t like either one for thinking it is my way or the highway? I know, both are suppose to ‘work for us’, but they sure don’t act like it!

If Boehner is not going to be replaced, he still needs to sack up and play hardball with the left.
Maybe this would help.
Rebar on December 24, 2012 at 2:30 PM
Maybe we should all mis pronounce his name as Boner.

The only person I would have more faith in is an advisor to Dick Morris.

..naw, mate, that’s slang for something that’s hard, rigid, unyielding, and won’t wilt under pressure.

Absolute Purity or you are out. But never define purity as 90% of the just re-elected house members of both parties would be out for they fail both sides purity test.

I hope and pray you are wrong.

Why would the R’s replace Boner? They’re in exactly the position they want to be right now.
RoadRunner on December 24, 2012 at 4:05 PM
Weepy Boner needs TO GO.
The fact that he probably won’t be replaced shows how dead and gone the GOP is.

Boehner has lost all credibility, due to the idiot brigade. Step aside, dude. And let the loony wing take over. Thats when they have to govern, not spout rhetoric and talking points.
tommy71 on December 24, 2012 at 4:30 PM
These loonies seem to think that $1T deficits are a problem, but the real whacky thing is they don’t understand that 4 days’ worth of operations in terms of new tax revenues isn’t the solution. Especially when that will help keep edging us towards the point where 80% of the taxes are paid by less than 10% of the population.
Memories are conveniently short. 2010 was about passing DADT, START II, and making $300M in cuts.
And the rhetoric and talking points are too much. Obvious common sense and basic facts aren’t the basis of governing, wingnuts.

Make that “4 days’ worth of operations in terms of new tax revenues IS the solution”
IceCold on December 24, 2012 at 5:37 PM
Boehner seems like a decent and patriotic man, but for a leader against this regime, we need a pit bull not a mouse.
