Gun enthusiasts pack shows to buy assault weapons
Reuters reporters went to gun shows in Pennsylvania, Missouri and Texas, and found long lines to get in the door, crowds around the dealer booths, a rush to buy assault weapons even at higher prices and some dealers selling out.
The busiest table at the R.K. Gun & Knife show at an exposition center near the Kansas City, Missouri airport was offering assault weapons near the entrance.
West Plains, Missouri dealer Keith’s Guns sold out of about 20 AR-15 style assault rifles in a little over an hour, owner Keith Gray said…
D.R. Woody was one of those able to purchase an assault weapon at the Kansas City show on Saturday. He bought the gun for target practice because he is concerned they soon will be banned. “I didn’t expect to find one. No gun stores have them,” said Woody of the AR-15 type of gun.

Sad, when people fear for their rights.

Leftists are dumbasses.

Stop calling them assault weapons.

they are comfortable in their shackles.
how did that Aussie gun ban work? watched a video on it yesterday. violent crime of every type skyrocketed.
tom daschle concerned on December 23, 2012 at 8:12 AM
No, people should always fear for their rights because there will always be those who wish to take their rights from them. The question should not be “Are you paranoid?” It should be “Are you paranoid enough?”
Oldnuke on December 23, 2012 at 8:18 AM
Just in case I’ve been too obtuse (again), I was referring to you guys – not the Left. There should be no need of these rushes on guns, in fear of a ban.
As for the vid on Aussie violence, did it mention the dramatic change in immigration policy that coincided with the ban? We have imported our own violence.
OldEnglish on December 23, 2012 at 8:21 AM
The very fact that you are correct is the reason for my sadness.
It just shouldn’t be.

A few days ago I shredded a friend’s argument for gun control when he used that term. All I did was ask him to define the term “Assault Weapon”. After that it was all downhill for him. He even tried to link the second amendment with guns and hunting. I was laughing when I pointed out that the second amendment had nothing to do with hunting and does not contain the term “Gun”.

They were out of the elusive AK15 assaulted weapon rifle, too.

good luck buying 223 for less than 800/$1000.
tom daschle concerned on December 23, 2012 at 8:30 AM
Can’t disagree but the reality is that it’s the nature of man. Always has been and always will be. When you forget that or worse become so deluded that you no longer believe it then you’re doomed. That may be sad but it’s still a fact. That’s just the way it is.
Oldnuke on December 23, 2012 at 8:31 AM
What’ll you give me for a barrel full of once fired .223 brass?
Oldnuke on December 23, 2012 at 8:33 AM
Hence the reason for my sadness. What an indictment of human nature!

I hope people are able to get what they want before any ban hits. I hate to say it, but if you’re just now getting around to buying a sport utility rifle, you’re a little behind the curve.
JohnTant on December 23, 2012 at 8:57 AM
I just ask them if I have hit them with a gun. WHen they say no, then I say I wasn’t “assaulting” you… they usually shut up.

My son and I were at a show in Salem, VA yesterday. One we’d been planning on attending for weeks. Place was mobbed and everyone from the dealers to the cops checking-in weapons to the people around me in line were commenting how they’d never seen a show attendance like this.
it.was.nuts.
Thankfully we were just there looking for some knives for his collection and maybe some accessories for me. You couldn’t even get close to the tables selling new hardware.

Well if Reuters calls something “assault”, who are we who don’t have a approved Style Manual to disagree.
I’ve even seen some equating “assault” with “semi-automatic”, insisting, therefore, that a Glock is an assault weapon.
When it comes to misinformation about firearms, I think their concept is “flood the zone.”

5.45×39 / 7.62×39 shooters are laughing…..
roy_batty on December 23, 2012 at 10:38 AM
It is but so is a bare fist. I agree with your point though. Fling enough misinformation at low information voters and it will stick to them.
roy_batty on December 23, 2012 at 10:42 AM
Until the EO banning the important of cheap commie bloc mags and ammo comes along.
As Barky issued one to stop the re-importation of US-made Garands he may look at this as an easy under the radar choice.
