America should see the Sandy Hook carnage
When my producer sent me that text, I recoiled at even the mere mention of seeing with my own eyes the real life results of what a Bushmaster semi-automatic rifle could do to a 6-year-old body. But maybe I should see it. Maybe Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association should have to answer to such a photo when he is interviewed.
Maybe if a modern day Mamie Till met with members of Congress and forced them to look at a photo of her baby, then we would see some political courage.
Maybe if all Americans had to bear witness to such a photo, we would stop ignoring the violence equivalent to the Newtown massacres that is happening in Chicago, New Orleans and other cities across this country.

Carnage pr0n? How about photos of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman? If either had been armed, maybe they’d both be alive today.
Disgusting.

Why – did he pull the trigger?
OldEnglish on December 23, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Are they going to release the uncensored crime scene photos of every crime? You know, where the victim did not have the ability to defend themselves? Don’t count on it.
Blake on December 23, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Ghouls, the lot of them.

Yeah.. lets see what gun free zones and Godless liberalism has wrought on our nation. And with that.. lets look at some real abortion carnage too. Lets open the doors to the abortion mills and see what Planned Parenthood is doing to the unborn. I’m all for it. And when we’re done.. lets revisit images of Nazi death camps, the killing fields of Cambodia, the Soviet gulags and all the other millions upon millions murdered at the hands of big governments.
Then, to top it all off… could we finally see images of the dead at Benghazi? And those killed by this administration’s Fast and Furious!?

If you think a .223 round from a rifle can do damage you should think about what a .44 magnum round can do from a revolver. You know, the non-semi-auto gun you people think are better.
These “reporters” aren’t serious people. They’re hyperventilating, hysterical nuts.
darwin on December 23, 2012 at 9:27 AM
Embassy personnel and Mexicans don’t count. It’s in the liberal handbook “How to take guns away from Americans”.
darwin on December 23, 2012 at 9:28 AM
no, just no.

I’m thinking Martin should be forced to look at his mother’s lady parts. And perhaps watch his parents having intimate relations.
(I mean, we can deflect just like the Lefties, if we want to, right?)
Seriously, after what Hollywood has shown us, after how Hollywood has conditioned us, it would go straight to “out of a movie” for most.
It isn’t until you are up close with a body that the visual impact gets you. The smells. The gore in 3D. The person you once knew lying there, dead, perhaps no longer recognizable, that you puke your guts out.
ProfShadow on December 23, 2012 at 9:33 AM
As soon as CNN starts showing aborted children too.
portlandon on December 23, 2012 at 9:34 AM
Ghouls, simply put.
Not only do they use the slain as human shields for their agitation, now they want to feed the sensationalism with the flesh of the dead as well.
Ghouls.
catmman on December 23, 2012 at 9:34 AM
No need to go that far – just release some of the more gory highway crash photos.
OldEnglish on December 23, 2012 at 9:36 AM
I’m sure that the parents and families that lost someone are so ready for their loved ones to be remembered in that way.
Or perhaps we need to see pictures of all the children that Obama murdered via his drone approach?
ProfShadow on December 23, 2012 at 9:38 AM
So they want to America to see what a bushmaster can do to a 6 year old in Newtown, Conn during one day?
Yet, they don’t want you to see what a surgical tool can do to hundreds of babies all across America during one day?
Yet, they don’t want you to see the Benghazi death photos?
Yet, they don’t want you to see Bin Ladens death photos?

Q: What does Hamas and Roland Martin have in common?
A: They both use dead children to make political arguments.
JohnTant on December 23, 2012 at 9:44 AM
Roland Martin, do you really think that a nation that has been fed a steady diet of pornographic violence like the kind seen in Pulp Fiction, Saving Private Ryan, and The Sopranos is really going to so recoil in horror at some photographs of murdered 5 year olds?
More than likely, what you are proposing is beat-off material for the next psychotic 15 year old school shooter.
Roland Martin, I knew you were an idiot. But I didn’t know how big of an idiot until right now…
JohnGalt23 on December 23, 2012 at 9:46 AM
America should see the “Fast and Furious” carnage.
clippermiami on December 23, 2012 at 9:52 AM
Kind of difficult with murders, but it’s easy to show a live late-term abortion, you could set it up weeks ahead of time. Schedule it in place of MNF, advertise the hell out of it, get sponsors, etc.
You want to see gun damage? I have an old Remington 870 12 gauge, the type used by 75% of the hunters in America, and that thing can blow entire limbs off.
Bishop on December 23, 2012 at 10:01 AM
I really don’t understand the vitriol towards Wayne LaPierre. He didn’t massacre those people. But here, and across Facebook, the focus of the Left’s ire seems to be him. Not the shooter, not mental illness, not the bureaucratic headaches that come with trying to help someone like Adam Lanza, not the fact CT has very tough gun laws already…nope, instead it’s all about THEIR agenda. Pathetic.
changer1701 on December 23, 2012 at 10:05 AM
That’s why the media has been relentlessly showing us photos of people jumping from the top floors of the World Trade Center on 9/11. Oh, wait.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on December 23, 2012 at 10:06 AM
Speaking of bureaucratic headaches, it’s worth mentioning that not only does CT have some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, but they are one of only six states with no Assisted Outpatient Therapy (AOT) law.
gryphon202 on December 23, 2012 at 10:12 AM
You mean like the pictures of the Holocaust?
No. All this guy wants to do is stir up emotions, the hatred inherent in the left.
The pictures of the Holocaust remind us what an unchecked government can, and will, do. Pictures of the sandy Hook massacre will enable such a government.
davidk on December 23, 2012 at 10:27 AM
This. But many haven’t even heard about it.
davidk on December 23, 2012 at 10:29 AM
And the ones who survived the abortion and were left to die in a Chicago hospital closet.
soundingboard on December 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I’ve already seen horror. Brain matter on display.
And I know, it doesn’t derive from people like me.
So show me the pictures. It will steel my resolve even further.
Someone mentioned the smell. Spot on. I do remember it.
And I arm myself well so I never have to see it, or smell it, or touch it ever again.
wolly4321 on December 23, 2012 at 10:32 AM
Great comments on this thread. Too bad the readers of Martin’s tripe won’t see them.
davidk on December 23, 2012 at 10:32 AM
It’s all emotionality. If a liberal even came up with a reasoned argument I’d fall off my chair.
Paul-Cincy on December 23, 2012 at 10:40 AM
How about any 9/11 footage you dolt?
roy_batty on December 23, 2012 at 10:48 AM
we could get all sorts of absolutely horrid legislation passed because of the sheer emotion involved, and not have to make an argument at all.
Dear Lord, please close up the mouths of all those who would use the deaths of these little children to “win” their political and cultural arguments. Give your peace to those who suffer, and guard the little ones as they come into your presence.
Amen
GWB on December 23, 2012 at 10:53 AM
Fine Rolly. Right after we see the carnage from 9-11. You know, broken burned bodies, people jumping from skyscrapers. While we are at it lets see other grisly scenes, auto crashes and homicides.
Deal?
arnold ziffel on December 23, 2012 at 10:54 AM
This.
Also think about the horror the left expresses if someone carries the photo of a dead unborn human…. somehow I don’t think he would be consistent.
CW on December 23, 2012 at 11:13 AM
The left. Hypocrisy. Bid laden pics?
wolly4321 on December 23, 2012 at 11:25 AM
Yeah, let’s start parading around photos of dead children. Because people aren’t already in a complete moral-panic meltdown over Sandy Hook as it is. Nobody’s taken the initiative to fly an airplane into the NRA building in Fairfax, VA, yet, so we need to do something to enrage people even more.

Aitch748 on December 23, 2012 at 11:28 AM
You’re so on target. This is all about exploiting emotion. They ignore the fact that Conn. already has strong gun laws and that the killer broke many laws. Do you think the killer cared?
CW on December 23, 2012 at 11:30 AM
The mere suggestion of this offends me on many levels.
But given the source, I’m not really surprised.
Gatsu on December 23, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Yeah, that’s what the Gun Free School Zone Act has wrought. he should look at the pictures of that.
juliesa on December 23, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Is it just me, or did Roland Martin describe all sorts of things that he has also never actually seen with his own eyes? So, he heard about these things and presumes he’s smarter than all other Americans who would have to see them to understand them? But HE can understand them just by hearing about them because he is so much smarter than everyone else?
Warner Todd Huston on December 23, 2012 at 11:41 AM
The condescension is thick eh?
CW on December 23, 2012 at 11:50 AM
Try reading some of their comments at the link. No, maybe you don’t want to. I did it for you:
(Of course, this Idiot ignores that Democrat President Bill Clinton, on whose watch Columbine occurred, proposed doing the exact same thing!)
Let’s not forget that CNN had absolutely no problem showing videos provided to them by America’s enemies, showing the sniper’s-eye view thru the scopes of American soldiers just before the snipers pulled their triggers.
The Most Busted Name in News.

I don’t suppose the photos captured the faint shimmering images of the gun control reapers hovering above the dead bodies of those children who were left defenseless to their fates in that gun-free zone by them.
Dusty on December 23, 2012 at 12:37 PM
[Warner Todd Huston on December 23, 2012 at 11:41 AM]
LMAO. I’m sure he doesn’t presume it, he knows it. How do you think he got to the soapbox he’s standing on?
Dusty on December 23, 2012 at 12:45 PM
Fine Roland..lets see all the black kids dead bodies too from Chicago with all the gun violence in that very strict gun law state..
Hey you also want to see the beheading videos too from Jihadists? I didn’t think so
