Romney and Ryan just weren’t radical enough for the times
Abolish OSHA—the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Considering the epidemic explosion of Americans going onto permanent disability in the last few years, OSHA should be disbanded on the grounds of rank incompetence. Either that, or somebody needs to put the kibosh on the disability scam, because the American taxpayer shouldn’t have to pay for both a safety bureaucracy and record numbers of workers on disability.
Here’s a big one: Privatize Social Security. Not in the timid way clumsily proposed by George W. Bush, but if the government is going to remain in the pension business at all (a dubious proposition), set up a private account for each worker with his or her own name on it. Don’t ever let contributions to workers enter the U.S. Treasury. Pay off accrued benefits with a combination of cash and tradable shares in U.S. government assets (e.g., land, oil and gas leasing properties).
If Speaker of the House Boehner had a single radical bone in his body, he would at least argue that any tax increase should only be passed with an expiration date. Why should only tax cuts be scheduled ahead of time to expire, but not tax hikes?

So having your head screwed on straight is not enough.
You have to be “radical”. What does that even mean?

They fought charlatanic thugs with silk gloves.
Such ‘boxing’ is always a loser.
Schadenfreude on December 22, 2012 at 6:56 PM
You have to have that “vision” thing. This is not a new idea in politics. Charisma and a Big Idea go a long way in capturing the public imagination and Mitt and Ryan lacked those things.

They counted on the intelligence of “the people” to be above the need for gimmicks and Greek columns and flashpots of confetti.
It was too much to ask.

Ummm.. Geez. The guy proposing radical changes to Medicare wasn’t radical enough.. Eyes rol.

Mitt didn’t fight.

If you’re ordering a pizza and one has a topping of shiit and pickles and the other one cheese and mushrooms…you shouldn’t have to “fight” in order to make the sale for the cheese and mushrooms.
Mimzey on December 22, 2012 at 7:54 PM
…unless all the restaurant reviews are telling you that the shiit and pickles is, in fact, the best sausage and green pepper pizza ever made and that the cheese and mushrooms is actually vomit and mold.
…or something.

Some how, some way, some are convinced that only if someone who spoke like they were on AM radio, advocated abolishing the Dept. of Education, Agriculture, Health and Human services, the environmental protection agency, privatizing social security and “withering medicare on the vine” until all that’s left for people is private insurance, and that if they did so while serving up the reddest meat they can piece together, that somehow it will translate into a landslide and suddenly all of America will flock to their side because finally, FINALLY, they were conservative ENOUGH!
It’s called being completely out of touch and disengaged from the attitudes of the American people.
But you know, it’s just because the American electorate is too stupid if they don’t embrace REAL Americanism! Right?!

Romney was out there talking policy while Obama was doing celebrity interviews and stuff everywhere.
The low information voter pays attention to one of those.
Moesart on December 22, 2012 at 8:18 PM
Thats about right..lol.
I guess it was too much to assume that people could tell the difference…though there were those that pushed the idea that they were the same.

The disastrous (and grossly inflated) sense of entitlement that ended up fatally dooming Mittens’ candidacy, in perfect, appalling miniature.
