“You don’t think that list is going to be around for a long time and you need something from the speaker?”
Committee chairmen were engaging their rank and file, and whip team members were asked to speak to every member with whom they had a personal relationship, whether it be a delegation colleague or just a friend.
“This is a point where his speakership’s on the line,” the member said regarding Boehner. “It’s a big vote and we want to be able to deliver for our speaker.”
At the same time, the member said the names of those who vote against the measure are being noted, an ominous sign after leaders recently pulled four GOP members from their plum committee assignments, apparently in retribution for not hewing the party line.
“You don’t think that list is going to be around for a long time and you need something from the speaker?” the member said. “In this business, if you can’t be here when your friend is in a fight like this, he’s not your friend.”

Reason no. 1,000,000 why Boehner must be removed as Speaker.

The Republican party operates like the SEIU relying on intimidation and threats. What a joke.
And who the hell cares about one man’s speakership? Congressmen answer to their constituents.

The Republican Party has been slowly disintegrating since Reagan left office. He show how to win and how to govern, but the “elites” in the party didn’t want anything to do with conservatism.
Time to dump the party and start fresh.

“It’s a big vote and we want to be able to deliver for our speaker.”
How about delivering for the American individual? This is precisely what is wrong with politics. Boehner can go to hell. Those reps they pulled actually voted as fiscal conservatives.

And why didn’t Boehner just hold the damn vote and force the Democrats to vote against it on record as well? They could have passed it with 5 of their votes, they did not. All these foolish analogies to playing chess and checkers, how about they stop thinking this is a game.

FIFY ~ Thought the count needed to be updated.

Boehner shouldn’t be speaker. He’s already proven inadequate to the job and he’s already purging conservatives from power.
The Republican party is just as fraudulent as the democrats. The Democrats used “conservative” candidates back in 2006 and 2008 to elect a far left leadership (Pelosi, Reid). In 2010 and 2012, Republicans used conservative voters to maintain a sellout “moderate” (left) leadership.

Here’s why nothing good ever comes out of Washington DC. They see their positions as a business to personally capitalize on rather than as a form of representative service to the people.

Perhaps the leadership should have considered that pulling those 4 people might not creat an atmosphere where people are inclined to support the Speaker? The members will remember how they are treated by the Leadership. The getting even routine works both ways.
If he’s going to punish members for any perceived offense why should they worry about him – better to vote their district’s interests and their beliefs.

That is what Congressmen are SUPPOSED to be doing to begin with. They aren’t elected to represent their party leadership, they are elected to represent their constituents.
It just so happens that CONSERVATIVE positions BEST represent constituencies…

Basically it sounds like they tried to convince people to support Plan B by saying….”Do it for Boehner”….”If you don’t do it for Boehner you will pay!!!!”
(1) Republicans are not Democrats because we are not a cult.
(2) Does anyone actually think Boehner can make anyone pay for anything. He has been getting pushed around by the democrats for years, and basically a joke to them.

REPLACE BOEHNER!

Screw it.
Those “no” votes should be proud, and they should unilaterally denounce the GOP, re-register as libertarians, or a new party altogether. Have absolutely had it with this crap, and I was a staunch no vote against going 3rd party, but Im done. In the wake of this move, the GOP dies, and our country suffers, but it needs to burn right now, so c’est la vie.
Bring it all one. Stand strong real conservatives.

I think they should stand with the speaker … look at all the good that’s come everytime they stood with him in the past!
Dude … DELIVERS!!
