Is the United States mentally unstable?
First off, the government estimates that one in five adult Americans suffered from some sort of diagnosable mental illness in the past year, according to the 2012 Survey of Mental Health by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Young people from 18 to 25 had the highest rate, nearly at 30 percent. But about 5 percent of the U.S. population suffered from a serious mental health problem that “resulted in serious functional impairment, which substantially interfered with or limited one or more major life activities.”
Looking across the world, experts say that cross-cultural differences, social and religious stigmas, and income levels often make it difficult to compare mental health diagnoses rates from country to country. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the five developed countries with the highest rates of any kind of diagnosed mental health problems (including substance abuse) are Colombia, France, the Ukraine, New Zealand and the United States, according to a 2009 report.

They voted for Dear Liar not once but twice, so yes. The believe that if you tax risk takers enough, everyone gets wealthy is a sign of mental illness.

We have too many psychologists and phony definitions of mental illness, including those defined by attorneys looking for excuses for their clients.

Exclude substance abuse, going on thought process alone, and I think you’ll find that at least half of any current Western country is nuts.

So how do we know that the people telling us we’re mentally unstable aren’t mentally unstable themselves? We already know the inmates are running the American Asylum.

All I have to say about that is: Hold tight to your wallets and purses ’cause someone’s trolling for 2013 funding.

I was discussing with a coworker several instances of women at work who had mental problems(3 in the last year). His wife is a dentist and she told him that roughly half of her female patients are on psychological meds for conditions like depression or anxiety.

Making us all mentally ill is on way to remove rights. Especially gun rights. If the default position is that we are all mentally ill the could require reasonable laws like all gun owners must submit to annual exams to determine their fitness to have a firearm.
The left would love this because they feel it would be one of the greatest why to control people. The sad part is that they are too stupid to see that once enacted they would also fall under the mental guidelines. Of course we would have some sort of elite class not subject that would decide what constitutes mental illness.
There are lots of scifi books and movies that depict government mandating drugging of the population in order to maintain everything from peace to the correct way of thinking. Most of them also have mandatory death for those that can’t be properly conditioned. But a little death never stopped the left. The left always needs to kill off a millions to achieve the goal.
As for this country. We are all fracked. Game over.
