Forget sharia, the new Egyptian constitution enshrines socialism
Bang, right out of the blocks—a centrally planned economy. No doubt this will be managed by just and wise bureaucrats, appointed on their merits and without regard to connections, and magically immune to graft—given how corruption is so rare in Egypt’s political culture. How could central planners possibly fail with all the tools the constitution puts at their disposal, like wage and price controls, unconstrained income redistribution, and centralized allocation of capital?

Like sharia, goes along to perfection with Obama.
Obama made Morsi. Morsi loves his brother.

Remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg went to Cairo to consult on what kind of constitution they’d like. She denigrated the US Constitution, said it was out of date, and praised South Africa’s, as it guaranteed things such as health care, and other entitlements. Sounds like they listened to her.
Bonus question: Why do we have a Supreme Court Justice who doesn’t like our Constitution?

Morsi and Barky sittin’ in a tree…

It’s none of our business. We need to fight for our own rights here in the United States. Screw Eqypt

Most muslim countries are socialist… It’s all made possible by their oil billions. Which is why it is treasonous to deny American energy sources to Americans.

So Frezza has no idea what socialism is then. Good to know.

They’re the same damned thing. Both are anti-freedom, anti-individual authoritarian tyrannies.

Is it socialism or an enshrining of their faith? What would a constitution written by orthodox Catholics look like?
Skywise on December 21, 2012 at 4:19 PM
If you actually read the excerpts from their constitution it reads almost identically to the wish lists from our own American Leftists.
Let’s see how the Progressive Utopia turns out in Egypt. There are no eeevvvvvillll American conservatives to provide any sort of checks and balances, either.
Forward!

Not a coincidence.
Socialism, Communism and Islam have the same core meme: “Sure, we’ve always created little versions of Hell on earth for ourselves in the past. But once the last disbeliever has been subjugated, converted and/or killed, then the world will magically transform into Paradise.”
OK, liberals call it a “Worker’s Paradise.” But that’s not really a major theological divide.

Seems compatible with Christian and Jewish traditions too. Israel was founded as a state. It still is in many ways.

It IS our business..we give them about a billion or so dollars every year to them! Tax payer dollars! That money clearly isn’t a wise investment now so it should be used as a threat to the Muslim Brotherhood at the very least..but that won’t even change them and their seventh century ideology so therefore no more funding to them

That’s an excellent point except that, of course, Communism, Socialism and Islam are not only incompatible with, but are completely inimical to Christianity and Judaism.
The fundamental meme of the collectivist religions can only exist as a parasitic ethos to Judeo-Christianity.
Eastern Communism is essentially the non-spiritual essence of Islam. As I summarized: “Sure, we’ve always created little versions of Hell on earth for ourselves in the past. But once the last disbeliever has been subjugated, converted and/or killed, then the world will magically transform into a [Worker's] Paradise.”
By the same token, Western Liberalism is the non-spiritual essense of Judeo-Christianity. That basically boils down to a backward child’s version of the Ten Commandments: “Everyone should share all their toys — except me; Always love everyone — except the people who support you; etc…”
Just as Islam was designed to predate upon the Samaritan ethos, Communism was designed to predate upon the modern liberal culture.
