What could go wrong?
President Obama will announce Wednesday morning that Vice President Joe Biden will head up an effort to form administration policies to curb gun-related violence. The effort is part of the emerging White House strategy on gun control, which includes support for an assault weapons ban and opposition to the so-called gun-show loophole. White House Press secretary Jay Carney said on Tuesday that cracking down on high-capacity magazines is another potential area the president could target.

Will sheriff Joe be turning his his “assault type military style” Beretta?
Ah 2008, you seem like another lifetime ago.
Gatsu on December 19, 2012 at 11:25 AM
I used weaponry in the military, but haven’t actually owned any sort of firearm for a long long time. I think it might be time to go get a fairly decent .30-caliber rifle at any rate. And ammo.

Meh, I’m not worried. If Slo-Joe’s in charge he’ll shoot his mouth off and blow a hole in his foot.
ChicagoBlues on December 19, 2012 at 11:30 AM
Actually, doesn’t putting Biden in charge of this effort ensure its failure?
Wasn’t Biden in charge of monitoring the stimulus?
BuckeyeSam on December 19, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Umm.. should Joe Biden be allowed to handle a dangerous weapon.. like ever?? I’m assuming that part of his Secret Service detail’s job is to keep guns, sharp objects, poisons, and other dangerous objects out of his reach so he doesn’t accidentally hurt himself.
Illinidiva on December 19, 2012 at 11:31 AM
$10 says we get a video of Uncle Joe looking down the barrel of a gun in less than 6 months.
Biden was in charge of tracking every dime of Porkulus. By this Friday, Biden will announce his effort will ensure the government knows where every bullet in America is.
Something tells me we have nothing to fear.

So that means that the Rs will basically win in 2016.

Rancid, that is where this is all headed. Heaven help us because we sure are gonna need it.

the left never sleeps, they never rest. They will use any and every event to take away your freedoms and make you part of the collective. I hate the left.

I wish him…the best on his journey.
Schadenfreude on December 19, 2012 at 11:54 AM
This whole thing seems to be shaking down to doing “something” with as little “nothing” as possible.
Expect a “department of school shooting defence”, a new bipartisan committee on how mental problems make people shoot guns, and a push to ban semi automatic magazine bayonet clips.
Gatsu on December 19, 2012 at 11:55 AM
Go by a gun store these days and see the part of the economy booming at a ridiculous level. High-capacity magazines are already being ‘banned’; they are completely sold out, as is the next shipment coming to the stores.

If I could only have one it would probably be a 12 ga pump, with a variety of barrels and ammo, and possibly a folding stock. Most versatile platform.

Barack Obama is “Person of the Year” at Time.
Celebrate idiocy by hue. It’s the ultimate form of racism, to expect so little of the first not even half black president.
