Orrin Hatch will vote no on Boehner’s Plan B
“Yeah I would,” Hatch told POLITICO on Wednesday when asked if he’d vote against the plan. “I would vote against it because I am against raising rates.”
Hatch said that the Boehner plan could pass on the backs of Democrats in Congress — not Republicans, who are fundamentally opposed to raising tax rates on any income group.
“Let’s put it this way – it’s up to the Democrats to enact, not us,” Hatch said in the basement of the Capitol. “They have the votes to enact it.”

This is political. He knows that it will most likely pass the Senate so they don’t need his vote. He can claim to be a real fiscal conservative knowing that it will pass and the big government establishment will get their win regardless.

You think that it will “most likely” pass? I put it at a small chance of passing, particularly with squishy moderates like Hatch coming out against it. And then we’ll end up with the Democrats coming in as the saviors for those at less than 200/250 after we’ve gone over the cliff. And, effectively, Hatch and his ilk will have caused a tax hike for those in the 200K-1M range to have their taxes raised.

Dear Orin,
How about voting to get rid of John Boehner?

After hearing lie after lie today spewing from the disgusting, purple lips of the Dog Eater in Chief, I am more in the “Let it burn” camp now than I ever was.
Thanks for agreeing with me, Senator Hatch.

It will pass the Senate

This “plan” is worse than just raising rates since it moves to demonize the successful and allow the left’s class warfare into the tax code (even more than it already is embedded there). If taxes have to go up, then they have to go up on everyone. The only fair sort of income tax is a flat tax by percentage. Anything that moves further away from a flat tax is a bad move that no one, ostensibly on the right, should endorse in any way. Barky has already thanked the Weeping Boner for the blow job, declaring that the GOP had conceded on class warfare being necessary in tax rates, as anyone with a brain could have predicted the Indonesian would do … as he’s been doing ever since he first slimed into the office he isn’t even eligible for.
The House needs to just pass an extension of the Bush tax rates and let the Senate or Barky kill the bill to bring on the Sequester (that they all agreed on, already). It’s funny how what Boner and Barky and the rest of the retards crowed about in their great “debt ceiling negotiation” of ealier in the year is what they are all terrified of, now, and acting as if it came out of the blue. These idiots settled on the Sequester. The Weeping Douchebag Boner thought it was the appropriate return for raising the debt limit and allowing the absolutely insane, un-Constitutional, unbudgeted spending free-for-all to continue. Now, he acts as if some monster forced the Sequester on him. I would say that Boner is an idiot but there really aren’t any decent words in English to describe what a miserable, despicable, imbecilic POS he is. He’s only lucky that Barky and the Dems are far worse – though that hardly means much, at this point.

But they won’t. After the cliff, the Democrats will come in as the tax cutting saviors of the middle class and put the Bush rates back in place for those below 200/250. The Republicans won’t vote against that tax cut after the rates have already gone up. But, it will be the Democrats who get to look like the tax cutters while the Republicans just look like stooges for the “rich.”

Dems can’t force the House to bring such a bill to the floor and the Senate can’t originate a tax bill.
ThePrimordialOrderedPair on December 19, 2012 at 3:12 PM
The House will do it. No way are the Republicans going to be the party of high taxes. And the more they fight it, the worse it will be for them politically. Expect light speed capitulation.

It is not actually Boehner’s plan – it is Pelosi’s – Boehner has just adopted it.

Orrin Hatch wants much higher rates. Voting no here helps ensure that happens. He will scream til the end of days how he is trying to be fiscally conservative, while in his heart he is a hard core progressive.
I still cannot believe that guy was able to remain in office.

Dude, it’s Utah.
Go into a bar there and try to order a shot and a beer. They’ll look at you like you just asked for a pound of Chinese heroin and a syringe.

That’s why this is such a disingenuous and meaningless remark. He might as well have said the he’d have picked last weeks lottery number too.

The worst thing about Boehner’s “Plan B” is that it provides for additional revenue with NO reduction in spending whatsoever!!!
In the old west, this would be like giving whiskey to the Indians…a punishable offense!
