Why are mass shooters almost always men?
Evolutionary psychology suggests that a threat to status could be a trigger for extremely violent behavior, Harrison said. After examining 90 male mass murderers from 1996 to 2008, Harrison and a colleague found that a threat to status (being bullied or a job loss, for example) triggered the violence in 88 percent of the cases.
“Anything that attacks a man’s status, then, is really a reproductive threat,” Harrison said. …
“For the men, it’s almost like going to war. Men often have assault weapons and big-time military stuff; they dress in quasi-military attire, and they assault a physical place like a building; it’s almost random, without much personal connect,” said psychologist and Temple University professor Frank Farley. “For women — my gosh, it’s so different. It’s up close and personal. It’s the personal, family life. Most infanticides are by mothers.”

For the same reason most criminals of any stripe are men.

I still remember that 10 building massacre back in ’63! Worst building assault ever. That and all those postman shooting up 7/11′s, pizzerias and random offices then returning to the safety of their post offices.
Personally, I think it just needs a rewrite.

I think a more appropriate question in this particular case might have to do with the number of boys/men who feel abandoned by their mother.

So…
are we to encourage more women to become mass murderers or something?
Equal opportunity or something?

Most women don’t like guns. They think that those things are meanie-looking. They prefer hacksaws.

If only. I was just caught up a few days ago on a story I missed here. Wife supposedly killed husband in argument by pushing him downstairs. that didn’t quite do it so bashed his head in. Then carted him off, cut him up, and incinerated him. They think she had help.
She claimed he ran off, deserting her, without taking car, coat, any personals, wallet or cash.
Not really a massacre, but still.

the diane wuornus’ of the world are an exception. for most women the kill is personal.

I’m a woman and I’m planning revenge on the male home invader who assaulted and robbed my disabled male relative. If the legal system doesn’t take care of it, wellll…. We’ll just have to come up with a Plan B.
As far as the threat to status thing, getting dumped by the little woman really seems to set a lot of these guys off. A lot of these shootings are domestic things taken to the workplace or mall. That’s what seems to have happened in the movie shooting in San Antonio a couple of nights ago.

Regarding that SA Hobbit movie shooting, a female off-duty deputy sheriff working security chased the shooter into the bathroom and shot him several times. Unfortunately, he survived, but fortunately the one guy he shot will also survive.

I’m getting pretty excited about this conversation on gun control. Officials in state government in Texas, Tennessee, and Virginia are considering making firearms and training available in schools and Michigan will likely get similar action if the legislature make it the availability optional and up to the school district.
Finally, we’re getting some meaningful action and won’t need any federal interference with our 2nd Amendment rights.

Women tend to kill their children or their loved one, rather than strangers. Wasn’t there a women mass shooter in the 60′s and 70′s who flipped because she didn’t like Wednesday or Mondays or something..?

Brenda Ann Spencer was her name.. She didn’t like Mondays.
melle1228 on December 18, 2012 at 11:41 PM
Teen girl. Dad bought her a rifle for Christmas; she tested it out from her bedroom window, at kids playing outside the grade school across the street. When later asked by police why she did it, she answered that she doesn’t like Mondays. Thus, the 80s song:
I don’t like Mondays
Tell me why!
I don’t like Mondays
Tell me why!
I don’t like Mondays
I wanna shoot
The whole day down

Yeah, Snyder said it didn’t have an opt out. He’ll sign one if it is left up to the institution. Choice is much better than mandatory gun-free.

There was the case where Mrs. Dinky murdered her husband, Mr Dinky by chopping him up with an axe.
.
She cut off his head, arms and legs and buried his dismembered body parts.
.
She was tried and convicted and just before she was sentenced she stood before the judge who said to her:
“You chopped off his head.
You chopped off his arms.
You chopped off his legs.
How could you , Mrs. Dinky?”

Not only rejection by women, but rejection by society as a whole. That definitely seems to be a factor in a lot of these cases.
Adam Lanza, Jared Loughner, and the Virginia Tech shooter were misfits who had a hard time making friends. Allegedly they were also picked on a lot by their peers. That had to contribute a lot to making them snap.

Hate to break it to the lib-tards out there, but, faith and family are the best prevention.
Boys need a strong, principled male figure in their lives in order to guide them into maturity as well balanced young men.

Just for starters, men and women are different……….. Susan Smith drowned her children in a lake is South Carolina. Andrea Yates drowned her children in a bathtub. A nanny in New York murdered the children under her care in the last month. Infanticide does seem their speciality. And, of course no man has had an abortion.
