Report: Obama to push assault weapons ban next year
Press secretary Jay Carney said the president would back Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) when she introduces legislation at the opening of the next Congress to ban certain assault weapons in the United States.
Carney said the president would also support other gun-control efforts, including legislation to close the “gun show loophole” on background checks and prevent the sale of high-capacity ammunition clips.
The president has reached out to lawmakers who have expressed a new willingness to consider gun restrictions in the wake of Friday’s mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., that claimed the lives of 27 people, including 20 children. Carney said Obama has been “heartened” by the willingness to consider such measures from Democrats who have been strong supporters of gun rights.

How about we ban lunatics walking the streets first? How about that?

Isn’t it funny how the left whines that they can’t deport 12 million illegal aliens, so they throw up their hands and won’t even try to deport a single one. Yet somehow they think they can ban and confiscate countless millions of guns in peaceful households all across our (once) great nation.
UltimateBob on December 18, 2012 at 3:44 PM
That’s because those guns can’t vote democrat.

The last one didn’t include the current Feinstein proposal of banning the sale and manufacture of about 80% or greater of handguns and rifles currently produced.

Play that 911 call of the women with a newborn who was screaming she didn’t want to shoot the guy trying to break in, but she would if he didn’t go away. He got in and then he died. Heaven only knows what awful things would’ve happened to her if she didn’t have a gun to protect herself and her baby.

Internet toughguys like lostmotherland and the resident retard sesquistupid would be first in line to turn in their neighbors. Doubtful they would have the balls to attempt to do it themselves.

Define “assault” weapon… Poison? Bricks? Knives? Guns? Fists? Baseball bats? Words? Scissors? Razors? Hatchets? Axes? Cleavers? Glass? Broken bottles? Ice picks? Mace? Pepper spray? Clubs? Jack handles? Tire irons? Explosives? Acid? Lye? Scalding water? Fire?
Why some and not others?

RMOccidental on December 18, 2012 at 3:53 PM
Gee, that “gun show loophole” that doesn’t exist. Unless, of course, I need a background check now to buy beef jerky. Or T-shirts. Or knives. Or backpacks. Or books.
The false “gun show loophole” is that vendors don’t have to do background checks. Vendors selling guns have to conduct background checks. Tshirt and jerky vendors…not so much.
Individuals selling a firearm or two of theirs never have had to run a background check. At least in my state of Florida..the “gunshine state.”
But yeah, some of that jerky is a little spicy.

If this were to pass the firearms industry would literally stop overnight, at least in the US.
At that point you will see foreign guns flooding into the black market via Canada, Mexico, and overseas. Driven largely by people trying to make easy money and various cartels and organized crime families/groups looking to expand into a newly created and expensive market.

How about an assault weapons ban on U.S. Attorneys General?
Sleazy Eric Holder’s Fast and Furious body count for his drug cartel buddies topped about 302 before many lost track.
Janet Barbecue Reno’s body Waco count was about 80 after she sent in the tanks.
Lanza’s Friday is what sleazy Eric Holder would call “practice.”

Legal gunowners follow the law.
First they’ll ban the sale and manufacture of guns, and since nearly everyone already has theirs, there won’t be a revolt. Then, they’ll have everyone register the guns they have, and 90% of owners will comply, because they’re law abiding and it’s only registering them. Then, they’ll demand you turn over the “evil” semiautos, and again 90% of owners will comply, because they’ll fear what happens if they don’t. Then they’ll pick up the others a few at a time, and the MSM will paint them as the greatest villains ever.
The English thumped their chests, before handing theirs in without a whimper. Australians, same sad story. Americans didn’t vote their guns, and someone who won’t vote their guns won’t fight for their guns.
The only way to stop this, is for the red states to leave the union. Short of that, the federal government will get it’s way sooner or later – we are well past the tipping point.

I really didn’t want to say it but………..
Liberal know spree shootings are an anomaly. They don’t really fear the solid citizen white guy but they nearly die at thought of a black or Hispanic dude pointing a gun at them. That’s the real fear due to their instilled deep down racism. They stupidly think that banning guns will keep them out of the hands of the gangster thugs who are all persons of color to them, and thus safe.
Frank Enstine on December 18, 2012 at 4:10 PM
My heart just fluttered just a little reading that.
The Count on December 18, 2012 at 4:10 PM
since liberals talk so much about “compromise — here’s a damn compromise for you parasites
Require ID to vote everywhere, then you can ask for ID/background checks to buy guns nationally
Otherwise, kiss off

Still think F&F matters? Dream on. Our first black president is so far above the law that it really doesn’t come into consideration for him and his whole administration just rides those coattails. Dismantle the AFT? More like expand it to massive size in order to carry out the gun confiscation ban to it’s conclusion. Then have all those ATF agents walking the streets asking for your papers.
Frank Enstine on December 18, 2012 at 4:18 PM

gophergirl on December 18, 2012 at 4:20 PM
Oh, I know the country couldn’t care less about F&F. I was just throwing this out there because that lack of interest annoys the hell out of me and I’d dearly love to dismantle the ATF.
totherightofthem on December 18, 2012 at 4:20 PM
This is as much nonsense today as it was yesterday. 48% of Americans did vote for their guns in the last election, and plenty have voted with their pocketbooks in record numbers since then as well.
xblade on December 18, 2012 at 4:23 PM
I was thinking along the lines of when it’s self-defense but I do get your point. Well made actually.
I guess it could be argued that the school shooting was manslaughter because he didn’t target specific victims he knew but, I consider it murder because he planned it out and targeted a particular school.
Frank Enstine on December 18, 2012 at 4:23 PM
Pssst, hey dummy—
That only works in cities and states where you can pester your opponents into moving away. When they have nowhere else to go, they fight. Too bad for you *giggle*
Sekhmet on December 18, 2012 at 4:26 PM
I really think there should be a lot of people going to jail over F&F and most likely an impeachment at the very least for BO. I’m really disappointed the the media is just spiking so much award winning investigations in favor of the “cause”. I just hope that when the dust settles the media gets everything they deserve.
