Three teachers at Sandy Hook sacrificed themselves to save their pupils
Miss Soto, who had taught at the school for five years was described by one of her deeply distraught 10-year-old boy pupils as ‘really nice and funny’, was trying to shield her students and usher them into a closet when she came face-to-face with the gunman.
Miss Soto’s cousin, Jim Wiltsie, said: “She put herself between the gunman and the children and that’s when she was tragically shot and killed,’ Mr Wiltsie said.
“I’m just proud that Vicki had the instincts to protect her kids from harm. It brings peace to know that Vicki was doing what she loved, protecting the children and in our eyes she’s a hero,’ he added.

Sister of heroic Newtown teacher Vicki Soto asks friends to hang up on media vultures

Indeed, and then you have this – the one who s/b presidentin’ displayed indecency, twice, yesterday and today; he offered political fodder instead of just sincere condolences to the families, over an incredible tragedy, due to illness.
The media and him can go straight to Hades, with Bloomberg leading them.

Media vultures
I remember one of these bastards with a camera filming a man who had broken his neck being being placed on stretcher and taken to an ambulance while the man’s fiance was begging and screaming at him to back off.

The reporting continues to be contraictory. The state ME says all wounds were caused by a long rifle while in the same story, they say handguns were used.

OBVIOUSLY, the Feel-Good idea of banning guns in certain places is a miserable failure.
In Israel, this was happening in their schools. They trained and armed their teachers and it didn’t happen anymore.
The recent mall shootings in Clackamas stopped because the shooter was confronted by an armed citizen

People die when they are disarmed. They are denied their ability to defend themselves and others…whether against a crazy shooter or a tyrannical government.

I understand the thinking but the killer was equipped with a bullet proof vest and a high power rifle. Would someone armed with a handgun really stand a chance against this kind of assailant? Frankly I am not sure if a regular policeman could have stopped someone armed and equipped this way and you can see why law enforcement showed up in full gear with assault rifles.
Should our teachers really be kitted out for combat? I wish there was an easy answer.
