Shooter’s mother not a teacher after all?
A former school board official in Newtown called into question earlier reports that Nancy Lanza had been connected to Sandy Hook Elementary School, possibly as part of the teaching staff.
“No one has heard of her,” said Lillian Bittman, who served on the local school board until 2011. “Teachers don’t know her.”

Amazing how bad the media is in leaking the “facts”.

Wolf Blitzer had on his “I Am Serious” glasses during the CNN “facts? what facts?” live reporting:

c’mon…how does such a basic detail get missed and propagated so widely? That’s crazy.

How many hours can the media fill with wrong reports? I think as conservatives, we know, 24/7.
Cindy Munford on December 15, 2012 at 9:56 AM
Journalism 101: verify fact. The media can’t even take the time to make sure basic facts are accurate. They are useless and should be ashamed of their complete incompetence.
tyketto on December 15, 2012 at 9:57 AM
Well at least they did not link with “anonymous sourced facts” or “Google searched facts” that a tea party was involved. This kind of “fact” is not damaging to 40% of the population with unfounded links that some guy in NewTown CT has the same ideas as some group in anytown USA.

Hold on now, trained paratroopers dropping over Normandy on D-Day couldn’t be expected to know precisely what was going on, how can you expect reporters HALO’ing into Connecticut to be any better?

One of the parents said the mother was a substitute teacher at the school, which I think would still qualify as accurate and would explain why she is not listed as an “employee” of the school board. Substitute teachers work essentially as contractors on an as needed basis, and regular teachers usually don’t know who substitutes are and don’t care about them.
AngusMc on December 15, 2012 at 10:22 AM
@AngusMC: And I read where the mother is just a volunteer at the school, a “Room Mother”…
All just evolving speculation by the media.
albill on December 15, 2012 at 10:33 AM
This just confirms it: yesterday was one of the all-time worst jobs in media reporting ever.
Almost every single one of their key “facts” turned out to be wrong.
Robert_Paulson on December 15, 2012 at 10:51 AM
The idea that a school district doesn’t have record of who it allows in its schools to substitute is ridiculous.
tyketto on December 15, 2012 at 10:52 AM
Never mind the facts, what matters is the narrative.

disgrace the media in this country are a complete disgrace. They make pravda look like professionals.
unseen on December 15, 2012 at 11:13 AM
that’s because the media wasn’t searching for the facts yesterday the were searching for a narrative.

This obviously shows the need to have stricter gun laws, and why lying on Facebook posts should be a felony crime. Or something.
Turn off the TV news this weekend. Don’t feed the beast.
