Obama: I’m more of a moderate Republican than a socialist
During an interview with Noticias Univision 23, the network’s Miami affiliate newscast, Obama pushed back against the accusation made in some corners of south Florida’s Cuban-American and Venezuelan communities that he wants to instill a socialist economic system in the U.S. The president said he believes few actually believe that.
“I don’t know that there are a lot of Cubans or Venezuelans, Americans who believe that,” Obama said. “The truth of the matter is that my policies are so mainstream that if I had set the same policies that I had back in the 1980s, I would be considered a moderate Republican.”

You keep using that word … moderate. I do not think it means what you think it means…

The Telegraph removed its link but here there are excerpts.

It means eunuch, from the left to the right.

Yep, also this.
And remember this is something that Brown started that a “Conservative” government has been too squishy to undo in any effective capacity. Wait until Red Ed Miliband finds his way to 10 Downing. There are two sons of self-identified Marxist academic Ralph Miliband, and this guy has gone out of his way to declare himself the crazier brother.

Jeez, you give me a 8 month old article regarding Britain. Lol. And yeah, the pubs for decades have thought that entitlements will run out of money. That’ll never happen. The pols will never let it happen. They’ll tinker with it to make it viable, including pubs. Just accept it, and move on. Lol

Directly above this is a post from two-weeks ago (which I don’t know what that has to do with anything, as the data examined is over the past three years), showing the citation you asked.
As for “tinkering to make it viable,” I agree that’s what will continue to happen. Its just that the tinkering is what is unsustainable. The pols won’t change though, and so all we can do is let it burn and rebuild anew from whatever is left after it all comes crashing down.
Don’t know what you are “lol”ing about in all this, but if this is what you find funny I expect the next 10-40 years will be a laugh riot for you.

Many of those were ordinary people who starved to death because Mao arbitrarily put people who didn’t know what they were doing on farms. Mao mismanaged a lot of stuff.

Very true. The U.S.A. is at least 80% socialist at this point. The final steps are to destroy all property rights and they are well on the way with that.

Gingotts, the pubs have been saying this for decades. But the pols will keep on tinkering, and continue to make it viable. Its simple. Even todays pubs don’t talk bout abolishing SS, medicare and medicaid. Why not? Cos they’ve accepted the facts. They all talk bout tinkering with entitlements to keep them viable. Just accept it and move on, dude/dudette.

Makes it sound like he is so reasonable; someone we could work with. The fact that the US government has spent umpteen trillions of dollars on the “war on poverty” with no change on the number of poor in this country will have no “affect” on his viewpoint, I’m sure. But, rest assured, he “cares” more than you do…

Wow, how smart of you. What is 8 months for moving these days, especially internationally?
Plus, Gingotts gave you a Nov. article. What wasted brains.

The overwhelming majority of them were. See quotation marks.

Duh. Mea stupida.
The Rogue Tomato on December 14, 2012 at 4:33 PM
Maybe, but back in the 1980s a no-brains doofus like Obama also wouldn’t have been considered qualified to be a dog-catcher either.
