Poll: Majority would blame both sides equally if talks fail
Fifty-six percent surveyed in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll say both sides would be responsible if a compromise is not reached. Nineteen percent would blame Obama and Democrats only, with 24 saying the GOP would be at fault.
Those numbers could suggest a shift in public opinion, as both parties work to find a way to prevent tax rate hikes and automatic spending cuts from taking effect in January.
Prior surveys have shown voters more likely to blame congressional Republicans if talks fail.

What difference does it make? Like Obama gives a damn if voters blame him for anything at this point?

This is pretty significant. Perhaps the stories about the Republicans supporting more revenues have shifted public opinion?
I’ve stated before (brilliantly too (ahem)) that as long as the debate is about taxes and the wealthy that the Republicans will lose. Until we take the public and force them to realize that spending is the problem the advantage will be with the Democrats.

Wasn’t there just a poll a couple of days ago saying that 70% of the populace would blame Republicans if the talks fails? What gives?
