Bad news: Federal workers increasingly dissatisfied with their jobs
Despite positive feedback at some agencies, job satisfaction across the government has hit its lowest point in almost a decade. Just 52.9 percent of employees at the sprawling Department of Homeland Security, for example, are satisfied with their jobs, making it the lowest-ranked large agency, followed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The seventh annual “Best Places to Work in the Federal Government” rankings pose a challenge for the Obama administration as President Obama, who pledged to reinvigorate federal work and make government “cool again,” embarks on a second term…
“We work for a horrible agency, but we do great work,” said Ricky D. McCoy, a transportation security officer at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and president of Local 777 of the American Federation of Government Employees. Just 32 percent of employees at the Transportation Security Administration, part of DHS, are satisfied with their pay, which is among the lowest in the government.

I’m not capable of being any more dissatisfied with federal workers that work for the gubbmint.
The workers at Federal though have to be good news as they produce excellent munitions.

The agency (which shouldn’t exist) is horrible because of idiots like you and the Indonesian Dog-Eater. You do sh#t work. You should be ashamed of yourself … if you had any shame, but being a unionized government employee, you clearly don’t.
Scumbag.

What more do the lazy azzes want?
First, they need to go on a diet, in more ways than one.

I’ll take one of those ‘horrible’ jobs off their hands, under one condition; I DON’T have to be a member of any union, so I can apply a PROPER work ethic to the position.

It has been said that there is perhaps no smell as sweet as that of the rotting flesh of a government employee.
Just sayin’.

Looting and mooching is nothing to be proud and satisfied about.
God, how I despise you all.
Schadenfreude on December 13, 2012 at 2:32 PM
Wow, I always think the same thing whenever I watch a union protest or rally. They don’t look like they miss any meals at all.
And I’m sure it’s pretty easy to get dissatisfied when all you do is sit around all day doing nothing, even if you are getting that sweet, sweet tax payer funded paycheck.

Ah, the old “morale has never been lower…” ploy, right out of the union bargaining manual (with full credit to Alinsky), coupled with “poor communication,” “fat-cat managers,” etc.
Here’s a novel concept… How about if everybody takes responsibility for his or her own morale?
Nah, that’ll never happen.

You’ve never worked in the private sector. They expect results.
gwelf on December 13, 2012 at 2:39 PM
TSA is a worthless joke of an organization. A private firm could charge the taxpayer less, provide better security, and pay for quality staff. Everything aside form Customs and Immigration should be outsourced.

They’re just pissed they aren’t getting the stay at home version of welfare.

Worthless parasites all of them (except the military, and prison guards).

Let’s just specify that there *are* a certain number of those folks dissatisfied in their job because they truly believe in a conservative view of government, but the government doesn’t allow them to do the right things. Few and far between they may be, but they are there.

Have we tried giving them raises again this month?

Scroll down
Cut their salaries and pensions, at least in half, too.

Government workers, having not earned the amount of wealth they are handed find their jobs unfulfilling. Surprised are we??
astonerii on December 13, 2012 at 3:08 PM
Who could have guessed that consuming wealth and not creating any value would be joyless?
tom daschle concerned on December 13, 2012 at 3:20 PM
We non-federal workers are pretty dissatisfied with their jobs, too.
