As anti-semitism rises, Jews in Denmark and Spain warned not to wear religious symbols
“We advise Israelis who come to Denmark and want to go to the synagogue to wait to don their skullcaps until they enter the building and not to wear them in the street, irrespective of whether the areas they are visiting are seen as being safe,” Israel’s ambassador to Denmark, Arthur Avnon, told AFP.
Avnon added that visitors were also advised not to “speak Hebrew loudly” or demonstrably wear Star of David jewelry…
Caroline Jewish School headmaster Jan Hansen told daily Jyllands-Posten: “It is not something that we do officially, but if the issue comes up we would say (to our pupils) they should think twice before walking into certain areas of Copenhagen with a skull cap or Star of David.”

Why is it restraint is only to be expected in certain groups, and not in others? In fact, expecting or allowing for a LACK of restraint in those other groups. The soft bigotry of low expectations, anyone?

Once upon a time Denmark was a refuge and waypoint for the Jews escaping Nazism.
Celebrate duhversity.

Progressive progress progressing.

Working as planned apparently. Nothing like allowing millions of hate filled muslims to Europe to increase tolerance.
darwin on December 13, 2012 at 1:32 PM
You can’t COEXIST with people who hate and want to kill you.
thebrokenrattle on December 13, 2012 at 1:32 PM
A country that truly believed in multiculturalism would be warning the offenders not the victims.
agmartin on December 13, 2012 at 1:33 PM
Restraint is only required in groups that may hinder the left’s agenda.
darwin on December 13, 2012 at 1:34 PM
I believe that syndrome is called Cultural Relativism.
“Cultural Relativism” is a core element of modern Progressivism.

The marxists in Europe have been importing their ideological allies, the mohammedians, who also hate the Jews.
No surprise.

It’s sad about Denmark, but Jews being persecuted in Spain … gee, that’s a real shocker.

tolerance is a one way street apparently

Yep. A few years ago, in Odense, Denmark, the superintendent of schools, Olav Nielsen, announced he would no longer admit Jewish children to the local school because of complaints from Muslims.

The Inquisition…what a show!
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I would prefer that Denmark and Spain permitted Israeli tourists to register and carry guns. It might set a useful precedent for the indigenous citizenry.

Why do none of the trolls who constantly whine about the supposed racism of the right ever deign to comment on threads related to actual antisemitism? Doesn’t it bother them?
steebo77 on December 13, 2012 at 1:59 PM
Auto-da-fé, what’s an auto-da-fé?
steebo77 on December 13, 2012 at 2:02 PM
@steebo77: Anyway “antisemitism” is and always has been a sterile, euphemistic abstraction. The proper phrasing is, “As the number of violent, hateful Muslims rises with no response from the docile authorities….”

Sorta like a Volt?
viking01 on December 13, 2012 at 2:17 PM
Oh wow. Europe’s really getting it’s joooo-hate on. This has never happened before. Except the last time, and the time before that, and then that other time.
It’s almost like there is a pattern to European anti-Semitism.
Importing a huge number of that vast ‘moderate muslim’ population should have fostered a more caring and sharing environment where people live alongside each other and respect each others traditions.
Oops.

Denmark is the most mono-cultural European country. Their immigration policy is the strictest in the western world so it’s not as if the Mozlem hordes have been invited in.
So what’s going on in Denmark?
CorporatePiggy on December 13, 2012 at 2:25 PM
Uh oh.
mythicknight on December 13, 2012 at 2:25 PM
Leftists are cool with it.
Silence from Obama and Hillary means approval.
They’ve been silent on topic, on Benghazi, on Morsi, sharia, North Korea and etc.
Schadenfreude on December 13, 2012 at 2:31 PM
@CorporatePiggy: There are two dozen Muslims there for every Jew, and the Danish authorities hope everyone will eventually learn to be nice.
Seth Halpern on December 13, 2012 at 2:38 PM
The “multi” part of “multi-kulti” is sort of a select, members only club. This isn’t unique to what’s happening to Jews in Europe. Ask the “hill people” in West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania if they feel part of the new “multi-kulti” community. Better yet, ask them how many times they have been told that “their kind is dying off and the sooner the better.”
Diversity and tolerance, my arse.

I usually have a theory for everything, but this one I cannot even reconcile to ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’
We can all see it happening, across the world, but how to explain a self destructive path? I understand self-loathing but cannot understand voluntary submission to slavery, when not under the immediate threat of being enslaved
I can only fall back on my faith, accept it as prophetic, and be ready to stand with the Jews.
Recently received a mailing from David Horowitz, of the Freedom Center, and Connect the networks, Reflections of a Diaspora Jew on Zionism, America, and the Fate of the Jews
His essay is s cry from the heart. Horowitz has become the modern Cassandra. He used to have a bigger voice on television, but now, he is being pushed back, because his story interferes with the programming. He is brilliant, and suffering deeply, because he understands. No one listened before, and history is repeating.
I thank God for men like Horowitz who tell the truth, and pray for peace

Interesting – I know that Danes who marry foreigners have a seriously hard and expensive time trying to get their immigration status sorted out. Didn’t realize that they were importing muslims at the same time.
