U.S. sending 20 more F-16s to Morsi’s Egypt
The first four jets are to be delivered to Egypt beginning Jan. 22, a source at the naval air base in Fort Worth, where the planes have been undergoing testing, told FoxNews.com. The North African nation already has a fleet of more than 200 of the planes and the latest shipment merely fulfills an order placed two years ago. But given the uncertainty in Cairo, some critics wonder if it is wise to be sending more top gun planes.
“Should an overreaction [by Egypt] spiral into a broader conflict between Egypt and Israel, such a scenario would put U.S. officials in an embarrassing position of having supplied massive amounts of military hardware … to both belligerents,” said Malou Innocent, a foreign policy analyst at the Cato Institute. “Given Washington’s fiscal woes, American taxpayers should no longer be Egypt’s major arms supplier.”

Obama and Morsi will use them against Israel, soon.
Leftists are for tyrannies – see Morsi and Obama.

Same with the arms sent to the terrorists in Syria, where all are anti-US/Israel.

Good move. This should make the Egyptians like us and forget sharia law. Smart power is the BEST!

I hope these get to about 5000 feet, have a major electrical problem, and blow up right over where morsi is!

In order to avoid these horrible mistakes in the future, we should institute and cabinet level position and department that will be equipped to warn against such things. They can maintain a presence in foreign countries to stay on top of events, influence developments and properly inform our foreign policy decisions. We really need something like that.

On the issue of jets, it seems that jet fuel was put in auto stations! Bet this doesn’t help the car much?

On the face of it, this is pretty nuts but then so was supporting the Arab Spring brothers.
There are a few things to remember though:
Running high tech weapons systems like F16s and M1s requires at the very least:
- Skilled operators who are constantly training
- Skilled trainers who have direct contact with the manufacturers
- Skilled support staff who are constantly training with the manufacturers.
- A rock solid supply chain for the parts that these sophisticated weapons systems need routinely and occasionally.
And that’s at a minimum.
Iran’s got a bunch of F14s that haven’t been flown in 30 years…

Are you kidding? McCain, Rubio and Romney want to arm the Al Qaeda affiliated Syrian “rebels”, and already have armed rebels in Libya. The Republican Party is part of this problem, too, that’s why only a few of them object.

At least they are paying you in money you gave them, or is this a token of esteem for the noble Muslims of noble Egypt?

I’m honestly starting to believe that Obama is a secret muslim brotherhood sleeper agent..ok maybe not, but his actions speak pretty loudly
