Yep. He knows that Americans tend to flipflop between parties every eight years or so. He wants to destroy the Republican Party when it is weak and disunited before they can recover. Good tactic, but not at the expense of doing the job he was elected to.

The sequestration deal that created this cliff is a great example of what happens when one party negotiates based on their principles and the other party doesn’t.

Obama believes that the path to prosperity comes from reducing income inequality through tax & transfer, and that deficits are no big deal. It’s not really clear what Republicans believe, other than “we have to beat Democrats and we won’t really care what we have to say or do in order to do so.”

In 2011, Obama blows up the debt ceiling talks and in walks sequestration. The GOP foolishly agrees to sequestration, thinking they “beat” Obama by holding down tax rates, thereby satisfying their Grover Norquist pledge and giving them a nice sound bite for the evening news.

But Obama wasn’t nearly so short-sighted. He was looking long-term at how best to accomplish his agenda. He couldn’t quite get there in 2011, so he used that deal to prepare the battlespace to force the GOP’s hand the next year. Mission accomplished.

I think Boehner should at least insist that Obama repeat the tanning bed tax. Boehner’s looking a little pale these days and could use more tanning sessions to regain his orange hue.

The GOP should not be looking for any sort of class warfare “means-testing”. That’s a lefty idea. The left sells the un-Constitutional SS/MediCare as a “tax” of a new sort that has future benefits based on past contributions and then turns around and wants to take it away from those who gave the most contributions in the past. BS.

MediCare is a total POS, un-Constitutional program but the idea of supporting a class-warfare “means-testing” method to keep the ju-ju flowing is insane.

I know it means nothing, since we no longer live by Rule of Law, but laws are not allowed to be made to target specific groups determined by wealth or anything of the sort. We’ve gotten so far away from this that people seem to take it as part of the system that such punitive laws can be fashioned, but the truth is that they are un-Constitutional.

Otherwise, not as a serious scientific theory. The evidence supporting evolution is prolific. Creationism? Not so much, and refuted by evidence.

But hey, if you want to believe it, go for it. But it is a religious belief, not a scientific one.

Do you really think that could happen? Look at the map bro – everything south of the Mason Dixon is red – Dims are no more than zoo animals on display down here.

As powerful as Obama is – he still puts on his trousers one leg at a time. He’s human – and there is no way he can force feed a quarter, much less almost half the country – a one party system.

This is the problem with Conservative slaves. You’re only at a disadvantage here because you’re still playing the game with the GOP. They’re the only guys you have on the field and they are lame-assed weak at playing it. They have no guts.

Fire the guys who have proven to be bad ballplayers (Boehner / McConnell / Cornyn … etc) and you will start putting some runs up on the score board.
