Hispanic Democrat: Obama’s missing in action on immigration
“Who’s missing from these conversations is the president of the United States,” Gutierrez told The Hill. “When senators from both parties and members of the House are talking, when you have the Senate majority leader and Speaker Boehner both saying that this is an important priority. Who’s the one missing? The president.
“He’s saying good things. He needs to be an actor,” said Gutierrez, referring to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio)…
Gutierrez wants to see the White House engage in more formal outreach on immigration with members of Congress. He says the president should convene a bipartisan summit on immigration reform, and suggested Camp David as a possible venue for negotiations.

I think he means amnesty. We have no immigration policy except to let anyone in and put them on the dole. Great for collapsing nations and getting votes.

Once the dollar collapses and it’s a free for all no one will come here anyway … many will flee.

Remember Kennedy/Kyl reform? Obama opposed it.
He wanted the issue.
Same with this tax issue. He doesn’t want the revenues; he wants the issue. If Boehner gave him a check for $1 trillion Obama would still demand increased rates.
Cynical, cynical man…

Can someone please explain the difference to these liberal idiots the difference between immigration (which is legal), and sneaking across the border (which is illegal).

Remember all that talk from Obama about “comprehensive immigration reform” back in 2008? Yeah, he was lying.

Remember Marco Rubio had his own version of the DREAM Act. Here’s what Gutierrez had to say abou that:
Gutierrez is one of the leading voices on this for Spanish-language media. He’s Obama’s point man. The public-tussle is a farce meant to agitate the right. Rep Gutierrez knows how important the mini-amnesty was to children of illegal-immigrants this past year.
This is a flank attack on Rubio. And it’s meant to further shame the right.
Why let them define the agenda? Allowing Rubio to be independent of voice and not beholden to party-extremists would declaw people like Gutierrez.
It would be nice if Marco Rubio was seen as outspoken on immigration issues. By neutering him on immigration the Tea Party reinforced all of the negative anti-Hispanic stereotypes about the GOP.

Hopefully Rubio is inclined to stretch his wings a bit. Perhaps he detects a moment of clarity among the base. I have a sinking feeling however that he will be squelched.

So…..Hispanics voted for Ears in ’08 and got nothing for 3+ years until another election is coming up and Ears throws them a bone to show “He’s down” with Hispanics. Hispanics vote for Ears again and now he’s MIA. SHOCKING! How stupid are these people? He got your vote and now you’ll be lucky if he even mentions the topic again.
They have no one to blame but themselves (really any group) for falling for the BS of Ears during the campaign. It’s amazing how on Nov 7th womens issues suddenly stopped being covered 24/7. I guess we solved that one to somehow. So should they be shocked if their issue stops getting attention?

Hispanics are as dumb as blacks when it comes to voting for liberal policies and politicians. So long as they get their welfare checks, the Demoncrats get a pass on everything from destroying their family system to letting entire cities degenerate into drug-ridden ruins where crime runs rampant.

We are already the party of legal immigration. What you and Rubio mean is the party of amnesty.
No.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez grew up in Chicago, where he became a leader of the Puerto Rican Socialist Party – a Marxist-Leninist, pro-Cuban organization.
* In August 2008, he called DHS agents “Gestapo agents”
* In 2006, he tried to get Illinois to give home loans to illegal aliens, with a better interest rate than veterans got.
* In 2006, he used the “gringo” slur against Tom Tancredo.
Assuming that he’ll put his own interests and the interests of Latinos far ahead of the interests of the U.S. as a whole is usually a very safe bet.
