PPP: Michelle Obama leads hypothetical Senate race
It’s only hypothetical this point, but a survey done by Public Policy Polling gives Mrs. Obama the lead over Sen. Mark Kirk 51 to 40 percent, should she choose to challenge Kirk in 2016 for an Illinois senate seat. From PPP.
“If Michelle Obama decided she wanted to follow the Hillary Clinton route once her husband leaves office in 2016 and go to the Senate, she’d have the upper hand on Mark Kirk. She leads him 51/40 in a hypothetical head to head. Kirk’s approval numbers are ok with 34% of voters approving of him to 19% who disapprove. But those numbers are no match for the first lady, who’s seen positively by 60% of voters to 33% with a negative one.”

We are, after all, talking about Illinois here.

Why not?
All sorts of fools are in DC, from the very top on down.
She’ll be stupid and ugly, mad as hell too.
Schadenfreude on December 6, 2012 at 2:45 PM
Apparently America hating, nannifying eating and drinking while yielding grotesquely fat arms is a-ok in Illinois.

Further evidence that our political elections have devolved into votes for the Homecoming Court.

Kirk has been MIA I his job for a year… What is there to either approve or disapprove?

Read this, from beg. to end, to see how ‘smart’ both of them are, heh.

Phone people all around! The Obamas hate them all and party on. The fools will never get it. May they all be destroyed, starved, in the dark/cold. They are not utilizing their brains.
Schadenfreude on December 6, 2012 at 2:50 PM
Is anyone surprised? Illinois is in arguably worse financial shape than even California. That doesn’t happen unless a majority of the voters there are very very stupid.

Being the wife of the first black president means you are entitled, without having ever held prior, elected public office, to a U.S. Senate seat–just ask Hillary.

let’s do it!
sesquipedalian on December 6, 2012 at 3:14 PM
And her qualifications would be…what, exactly? I realize that none were required for her husband to become President, but just being First Lady and going around telling school children what to eat (while not following the same guidelines yourself) does not a resume make. Hillary, at least, was deeply involved in substantive policy while Bill was
committing adulterypresidentin’, so that made a tad more sense. (The fact she didn’t live in NY? Not so much.)changer1701 on December 6, 2012 at 3:18 PM
This is not surprising, considering that Jesse Jackson won uninimously in the city of Chicago, despite the fact that he was in a mental hospital and being investigated, and hadn’t been seen by anyone for months. If she follows her husband’s history, I guess it means she’d be running for president in 2020. Just what we need.

Poor pollsters. So unbearably bored post-election that they’re dealing in attention-begging b.s.
PPP Poll finds that people still trust Gallup Poll more than they do Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight Poll.
sheesh…

If Hillary is qualified by an osmotic-absorption of political skills and knowledge from Bill, then so is Moochie.
slickwillie2001 on December 6, 2012 at 3:26 PM
Immediately prior to her current “job,” didn’t she have a very lucre-tive patient-dumping sinecure at University of Chicago Hospital?
Christien on December 6, 2012 at 3:27 PM
She’s not qualified to get the Democrat nomination. She hasn’t even done time.

Ditka’s sweater vest should run against her, to complete the farce.
Christien on December 6, 2012 at 3:37 PM
Great! Maybe she can run against Simon Cowell!
JAM on December 6, 2012 at 3:38 PM
Well, she is nearly perfect for Illinois: She is black, rich, a flaming anti-Semite and a racist to her very core, she’s obnoxious and abrasive, she is a classic blood-thirsty abortionist, she hates America and is a dyed-in-the-wool, corrupt democrat / ultra-liberal. Really, the only qualification she lacks is a criminal record, but, I’m sure she won’t have any trouble building that once she’s in office.
Hooves on the ground! Run-Moochelle-Run!

What is the Daily Senatorial Lobster Allowance?
Could she get by on that? I’m sure that it is much less than what she gets as Empress.
Maybe she can be Senator AND Empress.

Six years and two elections later, I still can’t figure out WTF is so great about this woman. Must be I’m the idiot, or something.
Red Cloud on December 6, 2012 at 3:57 PM
Obviously being black is in her favor. Communists have so conditioned the populace that nothing less than adulation is allowed if the person is black. She could butcher puppies and kittens for breakfast and the adoring masses would applaude on command. The other factor is she’s a democrat … and the media covers her from top to bottom.
darwin on December 6, 2012 at 4:02 PM
I don’t really see it happening. Even though the country will be in smoking ruins from 8 years of her husband, I’m sure IL is stupid enough to elect her anyway. Still, she seems eager to get away from it all at their new pied-a-terre in Hawaii.

She has already talked about running for president in 2016. All she needs is a couple of years as a senator to give her the extra edge. Not that she would need it. If hubby can’t pull another couple of terms out his backside I expect the fallback position is her for president and you know she would win. And yes I realize the president is term limited but if you think that will stop him or his cult you have been asleep the last few years.
Frank Enstine on December 6, 2012 at 5:04 PM
No, her husband leaves office on January 20th 2017, which is why this is academic. She’s not running for Senate while she’s still the reigning First Lady.

Forget Hillary. An old white person will never again win the democratic party nomination. Their base would see that as a giant step backwards.
