Video: “We voted for you, now bail us out”
The city of Detroit faces a major financial crisis and one member of city council thinks President Barack Obama should step in and help.
City Council member JoAnn Watson said Tuesday the citizens support of Obama in last month’s election was enough reason for the president to bailout the struggling the city. (Click the video player to listen)
“Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that,” said Watson. “Of course, not just that, but why not?”

OMG, you should have had a warning on that last one? Some people might be having lunch and will now up-chuck?

Do you really think we’re going to make it to 2015? The normality bias that exists in humanity is staggering.

I kinda feel sorry for Dave Bing. He seems like a decent guy, but only kinda because he should have known better than to get involved in that mess.

I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s gonna help me.

It is. In NO way is it “gifts” and “revenue”. May all the heads who use the terms esplode.

The reality of Detroit is way to real for them.
The problem the troll face is that the Detroit situation is a sure loser.
They SHOULD be jumping all over this.

Jeepers, even the rest of the state doesn’t want to bailout Detroit. A bailout won’t pass in the state legislature so that is why they are looking at the Feds. Detroit has under 750,000 people now – down from 2.2 million back in 1950. Eventually enough people will move away from that part of the state that the rest of the state will influence the vote for president. We get closer each cycle. Our state legislature has been fully red for a few years now. So most of us here in MI are perfectly happy to see Detroit fall off its own cliff.
