Sources: Elizabeth Warren wins Senate Banking Committee seat
Nearly two years after Wall Street waged a successful campaign to keep consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren from running the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the incoming senator will be tapped to serve on the Banking Committee, according to four sources familiar with the situation. It’s a victory for progressives who battled to win her a seat on the panel that oversees the implementation of Dodd-Frank and other banking regulations. …
Warren’s ascension to the panel gives her influence over regulators and the industry that non-panel members don’t enjoy.

But of course she did.

She’ll be passing the peace pipe with Wall Street bankers in exchange for campaign contributions in 3…2..1…

Sure, lets put a radical communist on the banking committee.
Makes about as much sense as the rest of the 0bama regime.
Rebar on December 4, 2012 at 12:42 PM
She’ll also be head of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs.
petefrt on December 4, 2012 at 12:43 PM
LOL
She’ll have to climb over Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin to have any influence on this Committee. I’ve seen many liberal firebrand freshmen come on Banking, and they usually slink off after a term or two after getting hushed up.
Massachusetts has no banks. That’s ultimately what determines your power on the Banking Committee.

Yep, this rich elitist from academia will really look out for the little guy. Unless they’re asbestos victims…

Makes sense, assign a lying hack to a critical committee spot.
Man, I am so ready for things to crumble.

You’re an idiot. You have no idea of what happened, or what will happen. You’re a liberal mushroom.
darwin on December 4, 2012 at 12:44 PM
Also this is a really good reason to make sure we win the Senate in 2014. Make Princess Lieawatha a backbencher in the minority. She’ll soon regret giving up her high-paid sinecure at Harvard.
rockmom on December 4, 2012 at 12:44 PM
So amusing to see liberals believe this woman will have any influence over the banks, or that they are afraid of her. You must be one of those who believe Obama actually cares about the middle class.
LOL

This is definitely the best place for her to serve until she is appointed as next justice of the United States Supreme Court.

Hmmm, and here I thought John Corzine would be happy with this?
ToddPA on December 4, 2012 at 12:49 PM
Why the hell not. She has no experience of finance. She will lash out in the name of the little guy and the institutions will deflect her flailing blows straight at customers.
None of these idiots know what they’re doing.
Senate Finance Committee
Max Baucus, Chairman: JD, 3 years as a lawyer for the SEC then straight to Congress. Zero finance experience.
Orin Hatch, Deputy: JD, 14 years as a lawyer, zero finance experience.
John F. Kerry: REMF, lifetime as a two legged horse. Zero finance experience.
And it just gets worse from there.
Might as well throw a communist fake indian academic into the mix.
No point in having anybody who actually has finance experience on the Banking Committee. They have ‘advisers’ for that stuff.

Why? Sounds plausible. She is considered a raising start in the democratic party and here in MA there is talk about a possible run for the WH in 2016. You have to remember that liberals and democrats are reality challenged so Warren is perfect. A Native American woman that is all about justice for the common folks. We know it’s a complete lie but that never stopped the dems before. Just imagine the historical achievement of having the first Native American Woman as president and right on the heals of the first black president.

Dingbat63 on December 4, 2012 at 1:10 PM
Elizabeth Warren should not run for president; she doesn’t have the temperament or experience for that job. But she should absolutely fill the next SCOTUS opening. And help to usher in a NEW AGE OF LIBERAL DARKNESS.
Alpha_Male on December 4, 2012 at 1:15 PM
Everything is the fault of the GOP/conservatives/religious. Being a white male is just icing on the cake. From global warming to the unemployed, it’s never ever the fault of the dems. The truth doesn’t even enter into the conversation because the “truth” is that the dems fight for truth, justice and the American way while the repubs only look out for the rich white guy. The repubs fight tooth and nail to prevent the dems from doing what is right. It’s the truth of the world whether or not it is really true. Truth doesn’t matter. Only perception matters.
Frank Enstine on December 4, 2012 at 1:15 PM
You are correct.

Heck, who are we kidding, even if it was, she’s a lib, so she’s immune from any prosecution.

What are you babbling about? They have been rewarded and handsomely. Obama was even handed the presidency.
MechanicalBill on December 4, 2012 at 1:43 PM
Y’all know Obama is trying to shut down collection firms with CFPB regulations, right? The layoffs have already begun, and will be continuing through 2013 and 2014.
Just wait until no one can get a mortgage or a car loan, because if you can’t repossess or foreclose, the only people getting loans will be those that don’t need them.
Bye bye middle class, it was nice knowing you.
JustTruth101 on December 4, 2012 at 1:45 PM
As it is only a small section of the public can unless they want to pay a risk surcharge in the form of additional interest.
Most good mortgage and car finance deals pretty much mandate a solid 800+ credit rating.
CorporatePiggy on December 4, 2012 at 1:51 PM
If she does make a run for the WH she will quickly certified as genuine NA as every tribe in the country tries to claim her as theirs. Nothing like the prestige of having a member of your tribe elected POTUS.
Frank Enstine on December 4, 2012 at 2:05 PM
Oh please. She is one of a long line of progressive “stars” who hit the Senate and effectively disappeared. She is not going to change the rules or customs of the Senate singlehandedly, and she is at the very bottom of the pecking order on the Banking Committee, the place where progressives go to die. Tim Johnson chairs the Committee and not only is he not a progressive firebrand, he is running for reelection in 2014 in a very Red state. You tell me he is going to allow a bunch of leftwing fantasy legislation or show trials of bankers. Guess who funds his campaigns? Hint: not the people who funded Elizabethj Warren’s.
She’s a very little fish that just landed in a very large pond.
