Race does matter…so does being fat…being bald…having facial hair…being too short…not wearing the “proper” clothes…not wearing a flag pin…stumbling out of a plane… misspelling potato…mispronouncing “nuclear”…being married…being divorced…being gay…being straight…being Catholic…being Jewish…owning a dog…planting a garden…

Yeah, race matters, about as much as most anything else, and a lot less than a lot of other things.

Just because 50.9% of the population is more interested in their gov’t handout than a terrorist attack cover-up, replete with now incarcerated private citizen presidential scapegoat, doesn’t make it a fake scandal. The nation’s top diplomat must be credible and savvy. Yet if Rice misled the nation by deliberately ignoring intelligence sources, or if she was fooled by the administration into offering unlikely scenarios for the sake of her chief’s reelection, then she is either not credible or naïve.

She is as dumb as lester/cows, with huge apologies to cows of all colors, spotted too.

First, having a woman or a minority as secretary of state has been accepted as the new normal for over a decade. Indeed, we have not seen a white male in the office since Warren Christopher stepped down in January 1997.

Which says a lot about the office. Women and minorities skew liberal. State is, and always has been, a bastion for liberals. The job has largely become how best to move the US closer to the United Nations rather than the other way around.
