Chris Christie seeks 100 percent FEMA reimbursement for Sandy
In a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency dated November 30 and released on Monday, Christie said the economic damage from the storm could be nearly $40 billion.
FEMA generally reimburses states for 75 percent of emergency clean-up and repair costs from natural disasters. The agency can cover more, but state officials must ask for the relief.
Christie previously asked for 90 percent reimbursement.

Instead he should sue Cheney for turning on the Weather Machine.

I thought it was the Rove Weather Machine. Let’s find out while I dial up Arctic Winter for the Land of 10,000 Lakes and 10,000,000,000 Mosquitoes.

The initial response from the WH is that it’s going to require more bromance photo ops in strategic states for the 2014 elections, and so Christie is readying his make-up team.

I do not think a hug was all that happened on that trip… Was there something dribbling down his chin?

100%? Why stop there? Why not 200% or 300%?
After all, Barry owes you big time, right Christie?
And hey, what’s another hundred billion or so going to matter anyway, given that the federal government is already on the hook for so many trillions of dollars that it will never be able to pay. Might as well do as the Obamas do and spend like there’s no tomorrow . . . because there probably won’t be.

The only thing Obama will do that I agree with is that he will give NJ nothing.

Excellent.
Next up – Katrina levels of fraud.

I think Lewinsky recognizes the shade of blue on Christie’s tie.

But then he can’t use a Sandy payout to buy the voters in NY, so NJ will probably get a ride on Schumer et al’s coat tails.
PersonFromPorlock on December 4, 2012 at 9:08 AM
I’m afraid he’s no longer needed. Sure he did his part, but NJ will be lucky to see 10%, if that.
DrAllecon on December 4, 2012 at 9:09 AM
Well, one more man-date with obama should seal the deal – If Christie wants 100%, he’s gonna have to work for it.

Good grief, the Federal treasury is empty.

Sure thing Chris, you earned it with that photo-op.

So, does this mean Christie’s not a fiscal conservative?
locomotivebreath1901 on December 4, 2012 at 10:13 AM
I think Christie will find that he’s not nearly as popular with liberals as he was while endorsing Obama.
I don’t blame him on trying to get all the money for his state that he can. Wait, yes I do – if he can make the tough decision on teacher pay, he can make the tough decision on taking Chinese funds from Uncle Sam. New Jersey can rebuild without federal funds. It’s called neighbors helping neighbors.
