Thunderdome in California?
Things are getting worse in San Bernardino. The city filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, but its financial situation has continued to deteriorate. And now with what promises to be a heated court battle over payments to the state pension fund in the offing, further cuts are likely.
Things are getting so bad that at a recent city council meeting, the city attorney advised residents to “lock their doors and load their guns” because the city could no longer afford to keep up a strong enough police force. …
This is the dystopia where blue ultimately leads. As money gets tight, cities have to choose between paying pensioners or paying for vital services. If California’s courts rule for the pensioners, they’ll be forcing a harsh reality on San Bernardino’s residents. Fighting for scraps in the ruins of a higher civilization?

But how could this happen in a state run by the “educated” party?

A little high speed rail will fix that right up. The climate change tax they passed will also be helpful.

Police are not for protection. Police are to arrest people AFTER they have already committed a crime. People always need to arm and protect themselves because the cops are not security guards. The problem is the courts that keep letting incorrigible criminals out onto the street to menace society and the problem of not arresting criminals even after they’ve committed crimes. The problem is that not enough people are armed and putting a serious hurt and death to criminals who try to break into their houses and steal from them. The problem is that people who protect themselves against criminals by shooting them tend to find themselves being dragged to court instead of the criminals, so the slime have free reign to do what they want. Those are the problems, not the lack of cops (though I’m sure the city could cut lots of other spending before they got to cutting cops).

I work two local gun shows a month. Sales are BOOMING.
Saturday, the biggest show in the 5 state region had an all time record attendance.
And to think the bitter clingers were mocked…
Mock away suckers!

My neighbor’s son, a cop outside of Los Angeles, bought his wife and daughter each a .22. With early release of criminals and not enough police, the future looks dim without a gun.

It won’t be recognized as the new reality until some high Dem. politician gets attacked (fatally?) – not just your average peon.

Bankrupt is bankrupt. No matter who the court rules in favor of, the probability of collecting is nil.
Bobmbx waiting for Obama to enact a “good neighbor tax” on specially chosen cities to help out those bankrupt CA towns.
The good folks of Omaha will pay a 3% special assessment to help San Bernardino.
Spreadin’ it around. Poverty, that is.

A look at the budget shows that they still had money to pee away for a rideshare/airquality bureaucrat, among other stupidities like increasing the budget by 63% from 2010/2011 to 2011/2012.

Cue the inevitable John Wayne comments from people who don’t realize just how badly they’re outnumbered 24/7/365.
IMHO this is one result of cramming people into enormous cities. We are not bees or ants or termites; we were not made to live in hives.

Wait until the entire state is completely bankrupt – and it won’t take long.
What happens when the EBT cards aren’t filled, the police/fire/garbage collectors/prison guards aren’t paid?
The state will descend into anarchy, cities will burn, people will be dying in the streets by the thousands.
Then, they’ll come to 0bama for a bailout in perpetuity – that’s when things will get interesting.

Wonderful points you made.
People are animals at heart & as an animals, your place must be determined in the pecking order.
All this talk of bullying etc. at the younger levels is nothing but animals determining their pecking order. And we as adults must regulate this behavior bcs you cannot stop it.
The same goes for criminal behavior. The populace needs to self regulate. This is what citizens are for. This vision of the old west being anarchy & full of killing was wrong.
It was actually mostly civilized, even though the bad has been held up for an example of normalcy back then.
Most of the old west died away very quietly as civilized society imposed its will, for the most part, effectively, if not perfectly.
Society is necessary when humans live together, but as animals, some of us will choose to be slaves (omegas & betas) & some of us will choose to be free (alphas).
