Colleges have free speech on the run
Liberals are most concentrated and untrammeled on campuses, so look there for evidence of what, given the opportunity, they would do to America. Ample evidence is in “Unlearning Liberty: Campus Censorship and the End of American Debate” by Greg Lukianoff, 38, a graduate of Stanford Law School who describes himself as a liberal, pro-choice, pro-gay rights, lifelong Democrat who belongs to “the notoriously politically correct Park Slope Food Co-Op in Brooklyn” and has never voted for a Republican “nor do I plan to.” But as president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), he knows that the most common justifications for liberal censorship are “sensitivity” about “diversity” and “multiculturalism,” as academic liberals understand those things.
In recent years, a University of Oklahoma vice president has declared that no university resources, including e-mail, could be used for “the forwarding of political humor/commentary.” The College at Brockport in New York banned using the Internet to “annoy or otherwise inconvenience” anyone. Rhode Island College prohibited, among many other things, certain “attitudes.” Texas Southern University’s comprehensive proscriptions included “verbal harm” from damaging “assumptions” or “implications.” Texas A&M promised “freedom from indignity of any type.” Davidson banned “patronizing remarks.” Drexel University forbade “inappropriately directed laughter.” …
Many campuses congratulate themselves on their broad-mindedness when they establish small “free-speech zones” where political advocacy can be scheduled. At one point Texas Tech’s 28,000 students had a “free-speech gazebo” that was 20 feet wide. And you thought the First Amendment made America a free-speech zone.

Indoctrination masquerading as education.

and we are dumb enough to subsidize our destruction

Curious how Berkeley was the origin of the “free speech movement” yet they shout down speakers as much as anyone.
Here, Bmore was banned for a comment about Susan Rice. OK, he wasn’t banned. That was a hoax. Sigh.
I think of a I think it was Asian student in his dorm annoyed by some black women talking loudly outside his dorm room window so he stuck he head out and said something like “be quiet, you water buffaloes”, and caught hell for such a racially insensitive comment. I wonder if he was Bmore. I wonder if they threw him out of school and now he’s bitter about it.

What? Indignity of any type? Laughter? I would give urban elitist’s left arm to see the plan for enforcing such stupidity.

And if we don’t turn this around, we’ll have no free speech in our nation either. That’s ultimately the whole point of indoctrination in the schools isn’t it? Train the young to take over the nation? It certainly isn’t to keep it all on campus.

So let me get this straight:
College campuses are filled with tons of white upper-middle class liberal-progressive SJW bullies who like to become wildly indignant and offended on behalf of any group that identifies as an oppressed minority?
I think I need to sit down.

Hey, now! Don’t point that thing at me!

When Mitch McConnell laughed out loud at Obama’s budget “proposal” (as if he’s ever made a formal, compete proposal), well, that was just inappropriate. Bring in Saddam Hussein’s method, which would be cutting out your tongue. Or Pol pot, reeducation camps including liberal (ha!) amounts of torture. Stalin would just shoot you in the head. Mao … not sure what they did. Would like to know.

Where’s ernesto to tell us that all college campuses are tolerant, therefore this story must be a myth?
Del Dolemonte on December 1, 2012 at 12:49 PM
We conservatives are going to have to start being much more easily offended. Turn this crap back on them.

lol, brings to mind the infamous “banned” episode of “Seinfeld” called “The Puerto Rican Day”, which NBC only showed once. One of the sub-plots involved George Costanza being chased around NYC by a dude directing a laser pointer at his face.
That episode was “banned” by NBC after complaints that it offended Puerto Ricans (a scene with Kramer stomping on a burning PR flag) and likewise it never showed up in syndication, except in Canada.
But it has magically started showing up in US syndication again, ever since we showed what a tolerant country we are by re-installing Dear Leader.

FIRE is an an excellent organization to support. I encourage everyone to consider financial donations. They really are the only thing currently standing in the way of college campuses declaring certain kinds of thought and speech criminal.

Having attended college and been in a union, as well everyday life, I’ve been around liberals of all stripes. I also know a lot of conservatives and libertarians.
Liberals are the most intolerant, bigoted, and hateful people I’ve ever known, and the further left the greater the hate and intolerance.
My interactions with liberals are a major part of why I’m conservative.

NO one is more racist and intolerant than any elitist leftist.
They are for dicatators – see the Obama-made Morsi.
They are against women rights – see the entire flourishing of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt passed the constitution yesterday, leaving no women right and slavery intact. No word form Obama or leftists.
They are Never truly liberal or progressive.
They are and support dictators, domestic and foreign.

The opposite of Diversity = University.

This is why we must target academia. The student loan bubble is already beginning to pop. We should refuse to fund the loan bailout and let the universities burn. Step One in any layoff is asking very senior employees to take a retirement. Entire departments have been built around Senior Professor Hippie McLenin since 1980-something. What happens when he takes that golden watch and goes off into the sunset?
